Graphene The Next Generation In Batteries

Faster Charging, Longer Life, & Less Chance Of Explosion & Fire, Graphene The New Advancement In Battery Power

Thursday, May 23, 2024, 3:00 P.M. ET. By Ryan Metz: Englebrook Independent News,

MANHATTAN, NY.- Graphene, is a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice structured sheet. graphene is poised to become the material of choice to replace lithium-ion batteries, the batteries that power everything from cell phones to electric vehicles.

Graphene has 10 times the energy density of lithium-ion batteries and can charge in seconds to minutes, has a lower rate of overheating and thermal runaway, is not prone to explosion or fire, and can last up to 10 years. Combining graphene with other types of batteries such as superconductors can also increase the efficiency of batteries as well as enable them to operate in extreme cold.

While lithium-ion batteries are currently utilized throughout a vast number of industries, they are not the ideal choice for battery material. Lithium-ion batteries have been linked to fires and in some instances, explosions, one example we all remember is "Hoverboards," lithium-ion batteries are also expensive to produce, do not function well in cold weather, and have a limited capacity.

Because of these attributes and the expected transition from combustion engine vehicles to EVs, the hunt is on to find the materials for the next generation of batteries. "If there is one battery technology to keep an eye on, it is graphene," says Jard van Ingen, co-founder and CEO of Focus, an AI analysis platform that predicts technological breakthroughs based on global patent data. Acumen Research and Consulting is also predicting graphene to become an industry worth over $1 Billion by 2032, up from $105 Million last year in 2023.

Graphene does have one drawback, it's currently not produced in large quantities to fully replace the lithium-ion market. Scientists and engineers are working with over twenty production methods to find the one that will produce graphene in large quantities and at low costs. Once this has been achieved, graphene will finally be able to be utilized in the same way lithium-ion is being used.

Nikki Haley Says She Will Vote For Donald Trump

Former GOP Primary Candidate Nikki Haley Announced Yesterday She Will Be Voting For Trump This November

Thursday, May 23, 2024, 8:30 A.M. ET. By Jennifer Hodges: Englebrook Independent News,

WASHINGTON, DC.-  On Wednesday, former GOP Primary Candidate Nikki Haley said she would be voting for Donald Trump in the 2024 general election, in a show of support for Trump which will unite the republican party, despite their contentious rivalry during the primary calendar.

"I will be voting for Trump," Trump's former U.N. Ambassador, said at a speaking event at the Hudson Institute, yesterday.

Haley also made it clear that she feels that Trump has work to do to win over voters who supported her during the course of the Republican primary campaign, and who continue to cast votes for her in ongoing state primary contests.

"Having said that, I stand by my suspension speech," Haley continued. "Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me and not assume that they're just going to be with him. And I genuinely hope he does that."

Yesterday's comments in her first public speech since she officially dropped out of the primary race are just another signal of the GOP's complete support behind Trump, even from those who had said he was a threat in the past.

Haley suspended her own run for the GOP nomination just a little over two months ago but during her suspension speech, she failed to immediately endorse Trump, accusing him of causing chaos and disregarding important U.S. alliances across the globe as well as questioning whether Trump at 77 was too old to be president again.

In return, Trump repeatedly mocked Haley, with the nickname "Birdbrain," and even made remarks about Haley's husband who was serving overseas in the military. In March, Trump pulled back his attacks are he secured enough delegates to become the presumptive Republican nominee.

Trump's campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comments on Haley's announcement.

Meanwhile, the Biden Campaign has been working to win over Haley's supporters, whom they believe are swing voters. With yesterday's announcement, Biden may now have little hope of bringing Haley supporters to his side.

Man Pleads Guilty To Kidnapping And Firearms Charges

A 33-Year-Old Atlantic City Man Will Spend The Next 18 Years In Prison After Pleading Guilty Multiple Offenses

Wednesday, May 22, 2024, 11:00 A.M. ET. By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

MAYS LANDING, NJ.- Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds reported that on Monday, May 20, 2024, Glen Graves, 33, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before the Honorable Bernard E. DeLury, J.S.C., to the charges of first-degree Kidnapping; second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and fourth-degree Resisting Arrest by Flight.

In return for Graves pleading guilty, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office will recommend that Graves be sentenced to an 18-year term in New Jersey State Prison. The sentence will be subject to the No Early Release Act which will require Graves to serve 85% of his custodial term before becoming eligible for parole. Following being released Graves will be subject to intensive parole supervision for an additional 5 years.

The guilty plea stems from an incident that began on the morning of December 27, 2022, Graves forcibly entered an apartment in Atlantic City armed with a handgun. Graves ransacked the apartment and then forced the resident, at gunpoint, to drive to a local bank. While seated in the backseat of the victim's car, Graves forced the victim to take out $600.00 from the bank's drive-through ATM.

Shortly thereafter, Graves discarded a pair of latex gloves and a loaded handgun. Ultimately, Police Officers identified Graves through surveillance video, witness statements, and a positive DNA match from the latex gloves.

Graves also pled guilty on unrelated indictments, and he is expected to be sentenced to concurrent terms on the charges of second-degree Aggravated Assault; second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and second-degree Eluding Law Enforcement. Graves admitted that on August 5, 2022, he fired a handgun at an occupied vehicle that had been driving through Brigantine Homes in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Graves also admitted that on December 4, 2022, he deliberately eluded Police Officers from Egg Harbor City when he fled from a motor vehicle stop while in a stolen vehicle.

Graves was apprehended earlier this year after a joint investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Galloway Township Police Department.
