Lawnside Homicide Investigation

CAMDEN COUNTY AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING A FATAL SHOOTING

     " Detectives Investigating The Shooting Death Of A Woman That Occurred Early Saturday Morning In Lawnside, New Jersey."

LAWNSIDE, NJ.- Camden County Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the Saturday Morning Shooting Death of a 28-Year-Old of a Lawnside Woman, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. McAulay.


     On Saturday, February 25, 2023, at approximately 4:07 a.m., Members of The Lawnside Police Department responded to The 100 Block of Mouldy Road in Lawnside on a report of a Woman being Shot. 



     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a Woman, later identified as Michelle Cruz, 28, of Lawnside, New Jersey unresponsive from a Gunshot Wound. Ms. Cruz was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Edison Crash Investigation

MIDDLESEX COUNTY AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING A SERIOUS MULTI VEHICLE CRASH

     " An Early Sunday Morning Crash In Edison Township Has Left Numerous People Hospitalized."

EDISON, NJ.- Middlesex County Authorities are continuing to investigate a serious Motor Vehicle Crash that occurred early Sunday Morning in Edison Township, New Jersey.


     On Sunday, February 26, 2023, at approximately 2:07 a.m., Members of The Edison Township Police Department responded to the intersection of Route 1 and Wooding Avenue on a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash. Upon arrival, Police Officers found Two Vehicles, that had collided in the intersection.


     One of the vehicle's Passengers sustained Minor Injuries, the other vehicles passengers were Critically Injured and were transported to a nearby Hospital for treatment.


     After the initial investigation, Police determined that the Vehicle that caused the Crash was Driving Northbound on Route 1 when the Driver attempted to make an Illegal U-Turn at the Median Breakf or Wooding Avenue, when he was Struck by the Vehicle traveling Southbound on Route 1.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ.- On Sunday, February 26, 2023, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone reported that a Saturday Morning Shooting in New Brunswick is actively under investigation.


     On Saturday, February 25, 2023, at approximately 11:08 a.m., Members of New Brunswick Police Department responded to Joyce Kilmer Avenue and Delavan Street in New Brunswick on a report of a Shooting.


      Upon arrival, Police Officers located a potential crime scene and a man who had sustained a Serious Gunshot Wound. The man was immediately transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was treated and remains hospitalized in Critical Condition.

East Orange Man Sentenced

EAST ORANGE MAN SENTENCED TO 28 YEARS FOR AGGRAVATED MANSLAUGHTER

     " Jashon Allen Was Sentenced To Prison For The October 2020 Shooting Death Of Daimeir Nelson."

NEWARK, NJ.- On Friday, February 17, 2023 The Honorable Ronald D. Wigler, Judge of The Superior Court Sentenced Jashon Allen, 34, of East Orange, New Jersey to a Term of 28-Years in New Jersey State Prison. The Sentence stems from a Guilty Plea to the Charges of Aggravated Manslaughter for the Fatal Shooting of Daimeir Nelson in October of 2020, according to The Essex County Prosecutor's Office.



     On November 28, 2022, Mr. Allen admitted and Pleaded Guilty to Aggravated Manslaughter for knowingly Shooting and Killing Daimeir Nelson, 22, of East Orange, News Jersey. Under the Terms of the Plea Agreement Mr. Allen must Serve Eighty Five Percent of his Custodial Sentence before becoming eligible for Parole Pursuant to The No Early Release Act. Mr. Allen also Pled Guilty to Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.


     On October 27, 2020, Members of The East Orange Police Department responded to an apartment located on Lincoln Street in East Orange on a report of a Shooting.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers found Mr. Nelson inside the apartment unresponsive from a Gunshot Wound. Mr. Nelson was pronounced deceased at the scene. The ensuing investigation determined by Detectives determined that Mr. Allen had been attending a Party with Mr. Nelson and others, when an apparent altercation occurred. Mr. Allen was kicked out of the Party and Shortly thereafter, when the door was reopened, Mr. Allen randomly Shot into the Doorway, Fatally Striking Mr. Allen in the Chest.


     " This was a senseless act of violence," said Assistant Prosecutor Austin Edwards, who handled the case for The State. " I hope this sentence brings some closure to the Nelson family, although I know they will forever be affected by the actions of the defendant."

Pleasantville Man Convicted

PLEASANTVILLE MAN CONVICTED ON CHARGES FOR THE NOVEMBER 2021 CARJACKING HOMICIDE

MAYS LANDING, NJ.- On Thursday, February 23, 2023, a Jury sitting in Atlantic County, New Jersey Convicted Jermaine Wharton of Pleasantville on Charges of First Degree Murder; First Degree Felony Murder; First Degree Carjacking; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.



     On November 13, 2021, at approximately 9:19 p.m., Members of The Pleasantville Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter Activation in the area of 914 North Main Street in Pleasantville. 


     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Ivan Smith lying on the ground unresponsive from a Gunshot Wound. Mr. Smith was pronounced deceased at the scene. 


     During the investigation, Detectives were able to review surveillance footage of the surrounding area and interviewed multiple witnesses. Based on the continuing investigation, Detectives learned that Mr. Wharton unsuccessfully tried to break into another individual's car, and then approached Mr. Smith and his car. Within seconds a Gunshot rang out and Struck Mr. Smith. 


     Mr. Wharton was identified as the individual who approached Mr. Smith prior to the Gunshot and Stole the car and drove it to Millville, New Jersey.


     Mr. Wharton was Arrested in December of 2021, and was Charged Accordingly. Sentencing the matter has been scheduled in Atlantic County State Superior Court at which time Mr. Wharton will Face a Term of 30-Years to Life in New Jersey State Prison.

Wayne New Jersey Man Arrested

CONVICTED CHILD PREDATOR ARRESTED AGAIN FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGE

     "George Robert Moraino, 66, Of Wayne, New Jersey Charged With Child Endangerment & Failing To Provide Address Under Megan's Law Registration."

WAYNE, NJ.- Following an investigation by Members of The Passaic County Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Unit in conjunction with The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit. George Robert Moraino, 66, of Wayne, New Jersey was Arrested on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.



     Mr. Moraino has been Charged with One Count of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and One Count of Third Degree Failure to Verify Address. If Convicted on the Charges Mr. Moraino will Face a New Jersey State Prison Sentence of Three to Five Years on each Charge.


     The Passaic County Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Unit received information in regards to Child Sexual Abuse Material being uploaded to a Visual Search Service on the Internet. The Visual Search Service allows users to Upload an Image to the Search Engine to find similar Images on the Internet. The Images Uploaded by the user depicted Children from a Few Months Old to Ten Years Old Engaged in Sexual Acts.


     Additional information pertaining to the reported content assisted Detectives with identifying a residence in Wayne, New Jersey. Utilizing various tools available to Law Enforcement, Detectives further were able to identify the individuals associated with the address. The Tenants included an individual identified as George Robert Moraino.


     While on scene, Detectives were able to Positively Identify the Wayne location as Mr. Morainos Primary Residence. Mr. Moraino is Presently Under Megan's Law Registration Requirements but allegedly provided a different address for Registration Purposes.


     Mr. Moraino was Charged on a Warrant Complaint and Lodged in The Passaic County Jail in Paterson, New Jersey. The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office intends to File a Pretrial Detention Motion to have Mr. Moraino Detained pending the resolution of the Charges Against him.

PATERSON, NJ.- Passaic County Authorities reported that Gunfire Erupted on a Paterson Street early this morning leaving an 18-Year-Old Saddle Brook, New Jersey man Hospitalized from a Gunshot Wound.


     On Thursday, February 23, 2023, at approximately 12:29 a.m., Members of The Paterson Police department responded to the area of 9th Avenue and East 24th Street in The City of Paterson on a report of a Shooting. Upon arrival, Police Officers located a potential Crime Scene and an 18-Year-Old Saddle Brook, New Jersey man who sustained a Non Life Threatening Gunshot Wound.


     The man was immediately transported to Saint Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment.


     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No Arrests have been made at this time. Garfield Man Convicted

GARFIELD MAN CONVICTED ON CHARGES IN THREE DAY ROBBERY CRIME SPREE

PATERSON, NJ.- On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, Passaic County Authorities announced that following a Trial in Passaic County State Superior Court Jimmy German, 21, of Garfield, New Jersey was Convicted on Robbery and Weapons Offenses.


     The Trial began on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, before The Honorable Justine A. Niccollai, J.S.C. On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, The Jury returned Guilty Verdicts on Charges of First Degree Robbery; Three Counts of Second Degree Robbery; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Handgun; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Taking.



     The Charges stem from an investigation in which Mr. German back in the end of January, 2021 committed a Three Day Crime Spree. On January 29, 2021, at approximately 5:30 a.m., in The City of Paterson Mr. German Robbed Angel Matos, 45, of his Personal Belongings including Cash and Two Cell Phones.


      Then again on January 29, 2021, at approximately 6:30 a.m., in The City of Paterson Mr. German Robbed Juan Clase, 22, of his Personal Belongings including a Wallet and Cell Phone.


      Then once again on January 29, 2021, at approximately 7:10 a.m., in The City of Paterson Mr. German Robbed Julio Pujols, 59, of his Personal Belongings including Cash, Food, and Cell Phone.


      After taking a Two Day Break, Mr. German returned to The City of Paterson and then on January 31, 2021, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Mr. German Robbed Irwin Ortiz, 31, of his Personal Belongings including Cash and a Cell Phone. Later the same day Members of The Paterson Police Department apprehended Mr. German and found a Handgun in his Possession.

Englewood Man Charged

41 YEAR OLD ENGLEWOOD MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUALLY ASSAULTING TWO CHILDREN

ENGLEWOOD, NJ.- On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced that following an investigation into the Sexual Assault of Two Young Children, Roberto Martinez-Guzman, 41, of Englewood, New Jersey has been Arrested and Charged with Multiple Sexual Offenses.


     On Monday, December 26, 2023, Detectives of The Englewood Police Department contacted The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit in regards to The Alleged Sexual Assaults of Two Children. An investigation by Members of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and The Englewood Police Department determined that Mr. Martinez-Guzman Sexually Assaulted the Two Children, who were 13 Years Old or Younger, in Englewood, New Jersey on Multiple Occasions.



     As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, February 16, 2023, Mr. Martinez-Guzman was taken into Custody and Charged with Four Counts of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; Two Counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault; and Two Counts of Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.


     Mr. Martinez-Guzman was Processed on the Charges and remanded to The Bergen County Jail pending his First Appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court and Potential Detention Hearing.

Man Additional Charged

JERSEY CITY MAN RETURNED TO NEW JERSEY AND FACES MURDER CHARGES

     " Caesar Santana, Returned To New Jersey & Now Stands Charged With Murder For The February 5, 2023 Killing Of Luz Hernandez."

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Today, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced that Additional Charges have been Filed against a 36-Year-Old man in connection with the Death of Luz Hernandez, 33, of Jersey City, New Jersey. Ms. Hernandez's Body was discovered in a Shallow Grave on February 7, 2023, in a Shallow Grave in Kearny, New Jersey.



     Caesar Santana, 36, of Jersey City has been Charged with One Count of First Degree Murder; One Count of Third Degree Hindering Apprehension; One Count of Third Degree Failing to Dispose of Human Remains as Prescribed by Law; and Fourth Degree Tampering with Physical Evidence.


     Mr. Santana was Arrested at a Motel in Miami, Florida on Friday, February 10, 2023, on a Fugitive From Justice Warrant and had previously Charged with Second Degree Desecrating Human Remains. Mr. Santana was Extradited to New Jersey during the evening hours of Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Santana was Processed on the Additional Charges in the early morning hours Today. Mr. Santana is currently Lodge at The Hudson County Correctional Facility, in Kearny, New Jersey.



     Mr. Santana's Codefendant, Leiner Miranda-Lopez, 26, of Jersey City has been Charged with Second Degree Desecrating or Concealing Human Remains. At the present time Mr. Leiner-Miranda has not been Apprehended and Remains at Large.      On Monday, February 6, 2023, Ms. Hernandez a beloved Kindergarten Teacher and Mother of Mr. Santana's Three Young Children was reported missing to The Jersey City Police Department. On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, Members of The Jersey City Police Department conducted a Welfare Check on Ms. Hernandez's Van Horne Street Residence. Results of the Welfare Check led Police Officers to contact The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Task Force for assistance. Detectives quickly identified Mr. Santana as a Person of Interest in the matter.


     During the course of the investigation, Detectives learned that Mr. Santana and Mr. Leiner-Miranda were Pulled Over by Members of The Kearny Police Department on Sunday, February 5, 2023, on Central Avenue in Kearny, prior to Ms. Hernandez being reported missing. The Vehicle was Unregistered and Impounded. A Court Authorized Search Warrant was Executed on the Vehicle on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, in which Additional Evidence was Recovered.


     Police Officers from The Kearny Police Department, knowing details of the Traffic Stop led Hudson County Homicide Detectives to the area of Central Avenue and Third Street in Kearny, where Detectives located a Shallow Grave. The Body of a Woman, later identified as Ms. Hernandez was recovered and was pronounced deceased at the scene. 


     Subsequent Autopsy findings by The Regional Medical Examiner's Office determined The Cause of Death to be Blunt Force Trauma to the Head and Compressions to the Neck, and The Manner of Death to be Homicide.


     The Homicide is being investigated as an Act of Domestic Violence. Anyone with information regarding the Death of Ms. Hernandez is Urged to contact The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Task Force at (201) 915-1345.

Man Dies Of Injuries

JERSEY CITY MAN SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES SUSTAINED IN SUNDAY'S HOUSE FIRE

     " Scot Rienecker Dies From Injuries On Monday After Being Injured In A Jersey City House Fire Sunday Afternoon."

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- A 50-Year-Old Jersey City man died on Monday, February 20, 2023, from injuries he sustained in a Sunday Afternoon House Fire in Jersey City, New Jersey, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.



     On Sunday, February 19, 2023, at approximately 12:11 p.m., Members of The Jersey City Fire Department responded to 309 10th Street in The City on a report of a Structure Fire. Upon arrival, Firefighters made entry into the residence and discovered an Unresponsive Man, later identified as Scot Rienecker, 50, inside of the Building.



     Mr. Rienecker was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment. Due to the severity and nature of his injuries, Mr. Rienecker was transported to Cooperman-Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey where he was being treated for Extensive Burns. On Monday, February 20, 2023, at approximately 8:28 p.m., Mr. Rienecker succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 8:28 p.m.


      The preliminary investigation conducted by The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force determined that the Fire does not appear to be suspicious at this time. The Cause and Origin of the Fire remain under active investigation.

Bridgeton Woman Sentenced

BRIDGETON WOMAN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR THE BEATING DEATH OF HER TODDLER 

     " Nakira Griner Has Been Sentenced To Life In Prison For The 2019 Beating Death Of Her 23-Month-Old Child."

BRIDGETON, NJ.- Yesterday, Nakira Griner, 28, of Bridgeton, New Jersey was Sentenced by The Honorable George Gangloff, J.S.C. to Life in New Jersey State Prison without the possibility of Parole, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.



     After a Two Week Trial, Ms. Griner was found Guilty on January 4, 2023, on Charges of First Degree Murder; Second Degree Desecration of Human Remains; Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; Second Degree Creating a False Public Alarm; and Fourth Degree Tampering with Evidence.



     The Charges stem from an event that occurred in which Ms. Griner Ms. Griner reported to Police that her 23-Month-Old Child D.J., Jr. was abducted while she was walking to a store. Cumberland County Authorities launched a search. Later on the same day during the evening hours, The Child's Desecrated Remains were discovered in the backyard of Ms. Griner's Property.


     A subsequent autopsy performed on the Child determined that the Child Died due to Blunt Force Trauma, and The Manner of Death to be that of Homicide.

BREAKING: Arrest Made In Paterson Homicide

15 YEAR OLD BOY CHARGED WITH THE MURDER OF 14 YEAR OLD BOY

     " Teen Charged In Last Friday's Fatal Stabbing Of A 14-Year-Old Boy Near Eastside High School In Paterson, New Jersey."

PATERSON, NJ.- On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, a 15-Year-Old Paterson, New Jersey Boy was taken into Custody and Charged in connection with the Fatal Stabbing of a 14-Year-Old Boy last Friday, February 17, 2023, that occurred at 147 Park Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey, according Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes.


     The Boy has been Charged in a Juvenile Delinquency Complaint with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Aggravated Assault; Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.


     The Charges stem from an event where on Friday, February 17, 2023, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Members of The Paterson Police Department responded The Eastside High School area, 147 Park Avenue in The City of Paterson on a report of Stabbing. Upon arrival, Police Officers found Two Teen Boys, a 14-Year-Old and a 16-Year Old both having sustained Stab Wounds.


     Both Boys were immediately transported to Saint Joseph's University Medical Center where the 14-Year-Old succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The 16-Year-Old was treated for his injuries and later released. 


     The ensuing investigation led Detectives to identify the 15-Year-Old as a Suspect and the individual responsible for the Death of the 14-Year-Old Boy. The Teen was taken into Custody yesterday afternoon and is Detained pending future Court Proceedings.

TRENTON, NJ.- Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced that Two Trenton, New Jersey Brothers were Arrested and Charged yesterday by The Mercer County Homicide Task Force for the Stabbing Death of Khalil Glanton that occurred Thursday Night at The Cure Arena in Trenton, New Jersey.


     Kareem Finney, 25, and Khali Finney, 20, both of Trenton, have each been Charged with One Count of First Degree Murder; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. The Brothers were taken into Custody yesterday, February 21, 2023 at The Mercer County Court Complex. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office will File Pretrial Detention Motions to have the brothers Detained pending the resolution of the Charges Filed against them.


     The Fatal Stabbing occurred on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., at The Cure Arena located on Hamilton Avenue where Trenton Police Officers were working at a Basketball Tournament at the Arena. Police Officers requested assistance after a Large Fight broke out on The Main Concourse between sections 111 and 112 within minutes after the game ended.


     As Police Officers were attempting to break up the fight, Officers discovered Khalil Glanton, 23, of Trenton lying on the ground unresponsive from Multiple Stab Wounds. Mr. Glanton was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later.


     During the investigation Detectives reviewed multiple videos and interviewed several witnesses. As a result, Kareem Finney was identified as holding Mr. Gleaton while his younger brother Kahli Finney repeatedly Stabbed him. The investigation further determined that the brothers had an ongoing dispute with Mr. Glanton over a Girl.

Ocean County Fire Investigation

OCEAN COUNTY AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING MONDAY'S BRUSH FIRE

     " Ocean County Authorities Searching For Suspect Who Intentionally Set A Berkeley Township Brush Fire."

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ.- Today, Ocean County Authorities are actively investigating a Monday Afternoon Brush Fire that occurred in a portion of a wooded park area, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.



     On Monday, February 20, 2023, at approximately 2:20 p.m., Members of The Berkeley Township Police Department and Fire Department Personnel responded to a wooded area inside Johnson's Pit located in Berkeley Township on a report of a Brush Fire. Upon arrival, Emergency Personnel discovered and extinguished a Small Brush Fire. 


     An ensuing investigation by The Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office and New Jersey State Forest Fire Service quickly determined that there were Three Separate Fires, including on inside of a Tent. 


     Further, a thorough investigation by Ocean County Authorities were able to determine that the Fire had Three Separate Points of Origin and were Intentionally Set.

Linden Murder Suicide Investigation

LINDEN MAN SHOOTS HIS WIFE AND TWO CHILDREN BEFORE TURNING THE GUN ON HIMSELF

     " Union County Authorities Continue To Investigate The Circumstances Surrounding A Murder Suicide That Has Left 4 Dead."

LINDEN, NJ.- Union County Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding an apparent Murder Suicide that occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday at a Linden Residence.


     On Sunday, February 20, 2023, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Members of The Linden Police Department responded to a residence located at 18 Chatham Place in The City to conduct a Welfare Check.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers found Two Males and Two Females who had sustained Gunshot Wounds. Three of The Family Members, Justyna Nieroda, 41, Krzysztof Nieroda, 41, and Natalie Nieroda, 13, were pronounced deceased at the scene. Sebastian Nieroda,14, was found alive in Critical Condition. Sebastian was immediately transported to University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.


     A joint investigation conducted by The Union County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Task Force and The Linden Police Department determined that during the morning hours, Krzysztof Nieroda Shot his Wife Justyna, his Son Sebastian, and his Daughter Natalie. Shortly thereafter Mr. Nieroda contacted a Family member on the phone and stated that he Shot his Wife and Children. Soon thereafter, Mr. Nieroda turned the Gun on himself and Shot himself in the Head, The Gun was found in his hand.


     "In tragedies of this magnitude, there are no words that can heal, nor explanations that can make sense of them to the public. Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of these victims and to the Linden community as a whole in the wake of this horrible event," said Prosecutor Daniel.


     " It is difficult to find the words to describe the impact a tragedy like this has on our community, particularly for the families, our children and our first responders," said Police Chief David Hart.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ.- Middlesex County Authorities are investigating the alleged Sexual Assault that occurred at a New Brunswick, New Jersey residence, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.


     On Sunday, February 19, 2023, The New Brunswick Police Department received a report of an Alleged Sexual Assault that had occurred. A woman reported that she attended a Party at an Easton Avenue residence where she was Sexual Assaulted.

Marlton Man Pleads Guilty

MARLTON MAN PLEADS GUILTY FOR CAUSING MOUNT LAUREL FATAL CRASH

     " Desmond Newberry Pleaded Guilty To Aggravated Manslaughter Causing The Death Glenn Keen."

MOUNT HOLLY, NJ.- A Marlton, News Jersey man Pled Guilty on Thursday, February 16, 2023 to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and causing The Death of Mount Laurel man during a High-Speed Motor Vehicle on Hainesport Road last summer in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, according to Burlington County Authorities.



     Under the Terms of The Plea Agreement with The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, Desmond Newberry, 45, of Marlton, New Jersey entered a Guilty Plea to One Count of First Degree Aggravated Manslaughter, in return for a Thirteen Year New Jersey State Prison Sentence. At the time of Sentence Mr. Newberry will be subject to The No Early Release Act. The Sentence will require Mr. Newberry to serve Eighty Five Percent of his Custodial Sentence before becoming eligible for Parole.


     The investigation began on September 3, 2022, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Members of The Mount Laurel Police Department responded to Hainesport Road near Cucina Carini on a report of a Serious Motor Vehicle Crash.


     The investigation determined that Glenn Keen owner of Cucina Carini was pulling out of the parking lot when he was Struck by a Vehicle heading West on Hainesport Road that was being operated by Mr. Newberry. Mr. Keen was pulled from his Burning Vehicle by Civilians before Police arrived. Mr. Keen was Airlifted to Temple University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased.


     Mr. Newberry was extricated from his Vehicle and transported to Cooper University Hospital for treatment. Burlington County Authorities filed Charges against Mr. Newberry Four Weeks later.


     The investigation further determined that The Event Data Recorder from Mr. Newberry's BMW revealed that Mr. Newberry was traveling at 126 Miles Per Hour just prior to the point of impact. Mr. Newberry did not dispute that his Blood Alcohol Concentration was .256 immediately following the Crash, more than Three Times the Legal Limit. During the Plea Hearing it was disclosed that Mr. Newberry had previously Pled Guilty to Driving Under The Influence on Two other occasions.

Pemberton Woman Sentenced

WOMAN WILL SPEND THE NEXT EIGHT YEARS IN PRISON FOR KILLING TEEN WHILE DRIVING DRUNK

MOUNT HOLLY, NJ.- A Pemberton Township, New Jersey woman was Sentenced on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, to Eight Years in New Jersey State Prison for Driving Under The Influence and causing the Death of a Teenage Motorist in 2021 after a Head on Collision that occurred after leaving a Browns Mills Bar, according to The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.



     Under the Plea Agreement with The Prosecutor's Office, Wanda Sprague, 55, of Pemberton Township, New Jersey had Pled Guilty in September of 2021, to Second Degree Aggravated Manslaughter. 


     The Sentence stems from an investigation that began on December 16, 2021, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Members of Pemberton Township Police Department responded to Lakehurst Road and Rancocas Lane for a report of a Motor Vehicle Collision. The ensuing investigation determined that Ms. Sprague was Driving her Chrysler 300 without her Headlights on when she Crashed Head On into a Nissan Sentra being operated by Kayla Bowen, 17, of Pemberton Township, New Jersey. Ms. Bowen succumbed to Injuries caused by the Accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.


     Detectives further determined that Ms. Sprague had been consuming Alcohol prior to the Crash at The Country Lakes Pub and Grill, and reached a speed in excess of 90 Miles Per Hour at the time of the Collision. Ms. Sprague had a Blood Alcohol Concentration of .188, twice the Legal Limit at the time of the Crash.

Bayonne Man Sentenced To Prison

BAYONNE NEW JERSEY MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR A FATAL SHOOTING IN 2022

     " Nysheed Gleaton Was Sentenced On Friday To State Prison For Fatally Shooting Rasheen Bostick In Jersey City On January 23, 2022."

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- On Friday, February 17, 2023, The Honorable Vincent J. Militello, J.S.C. sentenced Nysheed Gleaton, 24, of Bayonne, New Jersey to Twenty Two Years in New Jersey State Prison for The Fatal Shooting of Rasheen Bostick in Jersey City back in January of 2022, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.


     Mr. Gleaton had previously Pleaded Guilty to One Count of First Degree Aggravated Manslaughter. Friday's Sentence is pursuant to The No Early Release Act which will require Mr Gleaton to Serve Eighty Five Percent of his Custodial Term before becoming eligible for Parole.


     On Sunday, January 23, 2022, at approximately 12:28 p.m., Members of The Jersey City Police Department responded to 32 Belmont Avenue in Jersey City on a report of a Shooting.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Rasheen Bostick, 32, of Jersey City suffering from a Single Gunshot Wound to his Chest. Mr Bostick was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased at 12:55 p.m. the same day.
