Man Struck By Gunfire On A Paterson Street

20-Year-Old Man Arrives At Hospital After Being Struck By Gunfire Early This Morning

PATERSON, NJ.- A 20-year-old Paterson man arrived at Saint Joseph's University Medical Center in the early morning hours today, making him the second person to be struck by gunfire in just under 8 hours on a Paterson, New Jersey Street.


     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at around 1:15 p.m., members of the Paterson Police responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting shots fired in the area of Pennington and Market Streets in the City of Paterson.



     Upon arrival, Police Officers were able to locate evidence of a shooting but were unable to locate a victim. Within minutes of arriving on the scene, the Paterson Police Department was advised that a 20-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man had arrived at Saint Joseph's University Medical Center seeking treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.


     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as authorities continue the search for the gunman.
