BEDMINSTER, NJ.- On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, during a morning announcement Former President Trump outlined details into the filing of his Class-Action Lawsuit naming Facebook, Twitter, and Google as Defendants in the suit.
From his Golf Course in Bedminster, New Jersey, Former President Trump announced the filing of his Class-Action Lawsuit against Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube owner Google, for banning him from their Social Media Sites. Though Legal Analysts said The Former President's lawsuit has virtually no chance of success.
Trump, who is alleging censorship from Big Tech, called the Lawsuit a " pivotal battle in the defense of the First Amendment." The major social media sites suspended the Former President from their platforms following the January 6th Capitol Insurrection, after Trump tweets that allegedly glorifying violence.
In a News Conference from his Golf Course, Trump said his class-action lawsuit filed in South Florida targets CEOs Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Jack Dorsey of Twitter, and Sundar Pichai of Google and Alphabet.
The lawsuit will also target Section 230 of The Communications Decency Act which shields private companies from being liable for their users content, making them a platform rather than a publisher. The Former President blamed Former First Lady Michelle Obama for the ban, she said it was " time for Silicon Valley Companies to stop enabling this monstrous behavior, " and called for the Companies to permanently ban this man from their platforms." Trump also alleged that the Democrats coerced Facebook to ban him for Politically Motivated Reasons.
The Former President has asked the Court to order him and other members of the proposed class of Plaintiffs. Trump also wants the Court to declare Section 230 of The Communications Decency Act, Unconstitutional. Sceptics argue that Trump has filed thousands of lawsuits during his career, without them actually reaching a courtroom.
Many believe that this is no more than a public relations platform as The Former President prepares a potential Presidential run for The White House in 2024.
