PASSAIC NEW JERSEY MAN SENTENCED TO NEW JERSEY STATE PRISON ON CHARGES OF SEXUAL ASSAULT OF CHILDREN

PATERSON, NJ.- On Tuesday, July 20, 2021 Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Chief Luis A. Guzman announced that Ediberto Ordaz, 56, of Passaic, New Jersey has been sentenced to State Prison, on Two Counts of Sexual Assault on Children.
Mr. Ordaz was arrested on January 4, 2021 after an investigation conducted by The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit in conjunction with The Passaic Police Department. Mr. Ordaz pleaded guilty on April 29, 2021 in State Superior Court to Two Counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault for committing acts of Sexual Contact upon children, when one child was between the ages of 7 and 11 years years of age and the other was 12-years-old.
The offenses occurred at a residence in The City of Passaic between September 2016 and January 2019.
On Monday, July 19, 2021, The Honorable Justine A. Niccollari sentenced Mr. Ordaz to eight years in New Jersey State Prison with a mandatory 85% term of service before Parole Eligibility pursuant to The No Early Release Act. In addition to the prison sentence, Mr. Ordaz will be required to register as a Sex Offender pursuant to the provisions of Megan's Law, and will be subject to Parole Supervision for Life when he concludes his term of incarceration.
