Howell Man Charged With Stabbing Death Of Mother

25-Year-Old Howell Man Charged With Fatally Stabbing His Mother Early Monday Morning

HOWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ.- A 25-year-old Howell Township, New Jersey man was taken into custody early this morning and charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of his mother while she was asleep in her bed.


     According to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago, Robert Parody, 25, of Howell Township, New Jersey was formally charged with first-degree Murder; and related Weapons Offenses for the death of 61-year-old Loretta Parody.



     According to authorities, on Monday, June 3, 2024, shortly before 1:30 a.m., members of the Howell Township Police Department contacted the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Bureau that a stabbing had occurred at a home located on Porter Road in the Township. 


     The first Police Officers who arrived on scene found Robert Parody and took him into custody without incident. Ms. Parody was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where despite life-saving efforts, Ms.Parody succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later. 


     The initial investigation by Detectives of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and the Howell Township Police Department revealed that Robert had entered his mother's bedroom and stabbed her in the chest while she slept. 


     Following being processed on the charges Parody was lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a pretrial detention hearing in Monmouth County Superior Court.
