20-Year-Old Trenton Man Killed & 2 Hospitalized After Being Shot During A Brawl Outside A Trenton Bar

TRENTON, NJ.- Mercer County Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a large altercation that left a 20-year-old Trenton, New Jersey man dead, and two others hospitalized after they were struck by gunfire during a fight outside a local Trenton bar, early Sunday morning.
According to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri, on Sunday, May 26, 2024, shortly after 2:00 a.m., members of the Trenton Police Department responded to multiple 911 Emergency Calls reporting a disturbance at the Regal 1 Bar located on North Clinton Avenue in the City of Trenton.
Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered approximately 200 people involved in a street fight. Within minutes Police Officers heard multiple gunshots in the area of the bar, and a ShotSpotter Activation for two separate shootings in the 500 Block of North Clinton Avenue.
Police Officers located three men suffering from gunshot wounds on the 500 Block of North Clinton Avenue. All three were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where Dwayne Penix, 20, of Trenton, New Jersey succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later. Two additional men were admitted to the Medical Center and were listed in stable condition.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
