North Brunswick, New Jersey Accidental Drowning Investigation

 4-Year-Old Boy Tragically Drowns In A North Brunswick Backyard Pool Saturday Night

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ.- A North Brunswick neighborhood is devastated as family and friends mourn the death of a 4-year-old boy who tragically drowned Saturday night in a residential swimming pool. 


     According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and North Brunswick Police Chief Joseph Battaglia, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at around 7:46 p.m., members of the North Brunswick Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call on a report of a child being found unresponsive in a pool at a North Brunswick residence.



     Upon arrival, Police Officers performed CPR on the 4-year-old boy and transported him to Robert Wood Johnson Univesity Hospital where the child was pronounced deceased.


     The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning remains active and is being investigated by Detective John Hanrahan of the North Brunswick Police Department who can be reached at (732) 247-0922 or Detective Michelle Coppola of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office who can be reached at (732) 745-3477.


     Prosecutor Ciccone and Chief Battaglia expressed deep sorrow following the drowning of this child, "Our hearts are heavy with this tragic loss. We extend our deepest condolences to the family during this incredibly difficult time. We also urge everyone to ensure the safety of all children when near water."
