Westwood Man Charged In Fatal Overdose Of Teen

     "Jordan Clarke Has Been Charged In Connection With The September 2023 Fatal Overdose Of A Park Ridge Teen."

PARK RIDGE, NJ.- Following a Six Month Investigation, a 24-Year-Old Westwood, New Jersey man was Taken into Custody and Charged last Thursday in connection with supplying a Fentanyl Laced Pill to a Park Ridge Teen who Fatally Overdosed in September 2023.


     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Thursday, September 14, 2024, Members of The Park Ridge Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an Unresponsive Teenager. Upon arrival, Police Officers found The Teen unconscious from an apparent Narcotics Overdose. Despite Life-Saving Efforts including the administration of Naloxone. Shortly thereafter the Teen was pronounced deceased.


     An investigation was launched, and Detectives of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Task Force determined that the Teen ingested a Fentanyl-Laced Counterfeit Oxycodone Pill.


     A Six-Month Investigation into The Death of The Teen and Related Narcotics Activity by Bergen County Authorities revealed that Jordan Clarke, 24, of Westwood, New Jersey Distributed a Fatal Dose of Narcotics to The Teen, causing his Death.


     As a result of The Investigation, on Thursday, March 8, 2024, Detectives from The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and The Park Ridge Police Department Executed a Court Authorized Search Warrant at The Residence of a Relative of Mr. Clarke in Paterson, New Jersey, where Clarke had been staying, and located Evidence related to the investigation. 


     Clarke was Taken into Custody and Formally Charged with First Degree Liability in a Drug-Induced Death; Third Degree Distribution of Fentanyl; and Third Degree Distribution of Alprazolam. Clarke was Processed on The Charges and was Remanded to The Bergen County Jail pending Future Court Proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
