30-YEAR-OLD SOMERS POINT MAN ORDERED DETAINED PENDING TRIAL
"Michael John James Will Remain Behind Bars Pending Trial On Multiple Weapons & Narcotics Offenses."

MAYS LANDING, NJ.- According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds reported, that On Friday, March 8, 2024, an Atlantic County Superior Court Judge ordered Michael John James, 30, of Somers Point, New Jersey, to be Detained pending Trial on Multiple Weapons and Narcotics Offenses.
Following an investigation, on February 27, 2024, Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement Arrested Mr. James without incident at his Residence located on The 100 Block of Colwick Drive in Somers Point. During the Arrest, James was in Possession of Distribution-Levels of Prescription Pills, including Alprazolam and Diazepam.
During a further search of Mr. James' Residence, Detectives and Police Officers Seized Multiple Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Other Evidence hidden inside his home.
Accordingly, following being Taken into Custody, James was Formally Charged with Three Counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Three Counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute; Three Counts of Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Controlled Dangerous Substance Offense; Unlawful Possession of a Machine Gun; and Unlawful Possession of an Assault Rifle.
"This investigation is the result of hard work and great cooperation among many law enforcement agencies," Prosecutor Reynolds said. "That work will continue to ensure that this case is charged and prosecuted thoroughly, and our agency will keep up its aggressive pursuit throughout Atlantic County of illegal drugs, illegal weapons, and the deadly combination of the two."
