TRENTON, NJ.- Detectives of The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and The Trenton Police Department are continuing their investigation into The Fatal Shooting by a Homeowner of a man who Broke Into his Trenton, New Jersey Residence Armed with a Hammer, Late Sunday Night.
According to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri, on Sunday, March 17, 2024, shortly before 10:30 p.m., Members of The Trenton Police Department responded to a Bert Avenue Residence in The City of Trenton on a Report of a Shooting in Progress.
Detectives of The Trenton Police Department, while on another Assignment responded and found a man, later identified as Andray Ingram, 34, of Trenton, New Jersey lying on The Ground on St. Francis Avenue suffering from a Gunshot Wound to his Chest. Mr. Ingram was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
During the Preliminary Investigation, Detectives learned that a Bert Avenue Homeowner Fired Multiple Shots with a Firearm he had in his Home at an Unknown Individual Armed with a Hammer Banging on his Door and Smashing his Door Ring Camera. The Individual, identified as Ingram had Broken into the Residence and was inside the Vestibule Area when the Homeowner Shot Ingram.
No Charges have been filed and Detectives of The Mercer County Homicide Task Force are continuing the investigation into The Shooting.
