Mays Landing Man Charged In Murder Of Mother

53-YEAR-OLD MAYS LANDING MAN CHARGED WITH MURDERING HIS 74-YEAR-OLD MOTHER

     "Sean Daly Was Charged Yesterday In Connection To The Murder Of His 74-Year-Old Mother."

MAYS LANDING, NJ.- On Wednesday, a 53-Year-Old Mays Landing, New Jersey man was Taken into Custody and Charged for Allegedly Killing his Mother inside Quinn Ave Residence.

     According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, shortly after 11:30 p.m., Members of The Hamilton Township Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call at a Quinn Avenue Residence in Mays Landing.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found The Dead Body of a Woman, later identified as Melba Daly, 74, of Mays Landing, New Jersey.

     An ensuing investigation by Detectives of The Hamilton Township Police Department and The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit quickly determined that Ms. Daly's Son, Sean Daly, 53, of Mays Landing was the individual responsible for his Mother's Death.

     Mr. Daly had previously served a Four-Year New Jersey State Prison Term for a Charge of Attempted Murder for Stabbing his Mother inside her Home, according to Court Records. 

     Accordingly, Mr. Daly was Taken into Custody and Formally Charged with Murder and Weapons Offenses, The Murder Weapon has not been named. Daly was Processed on The Charges and will be Remanded to The Atlantic County Justice Facility pending Future Court Proceedings in Atlantic County Superior Court.
