JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Members of The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit are continuing their investigation into what caused a 28-Year-Old Staten Island woman to run her car into a Parked Tractor-Trailer Early Saturday Morning in Jersey City, Killing a 31-Year-Old Bayonne, New Jersey Woman and Injuring herself and another Passenger.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, on Saturday, February 3, 2024, just shortly after 12:00 a.m., Members of The Jersey City Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Serious Motor Vehicle Collision on Route 185 near the intersection of Linden Avenue in Jersey City.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 2019 Nissan Car that had collided with a Parked and Unoccupied Tractor-Trailer.
The Driver of the Nissan, a Female, and Two Female Passengers were immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where Stephanie Weymouth, 31, of Bayonne, New Jersey succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later. The Driver, a 28-Year-Old Staten Island, New York Woman, and a 27-Year-Old Old Bridge, New Jersey Woman were treated for Non-Life Threatening Injuries and were released from the Hospital.
The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and The Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this collision. No arrests have been made at this time.
