BREAKING: Ridgefield Park, New Jersey Man Charged With Sex Crimes

19-YEAR-OLD RIDGEFIELD PARK MAN CHARGED WEDNESDAY FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING A CHILD

     "Abraham Rivera Was Charged On Wednesday For Sexually Assaulting A Child In September 2023, In Garfield, New Jersey."

GARFIELD, NJ.- A 19-Year-Old Ridgefield Park, New Jersey man was Taken into Custody and Charged on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, for Allegedly Sexually Assaulting a Child last September in Garfield, New Jersey.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Thursday, September 28, 2023, The New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit after they learned that a Child had been Sexually Assaulted. 

     A Joint Investigation by Members of The Bergen County Special Victims Unit in Conjunction with The Garfield Police Department was initiated. After interviewing witnesses including The Child Victim, Detectives determined that Abraham Rivera, 19, of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey Sexually Assaulted a Child in Garfield on One Occasion.

     Accordingly, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, Mr. Rivera was Taken into Custody at The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office in Paramus, New Jersey, and Formally Charged with First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; and Two Counts of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. 

     Rivera was Processed on The Charges and Remanded to The Bergen County Jail pending Future Court Proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
