BREAKING: Newark, New Jersey Man Charged With Human Trafficking

     "Nafis H. Wiggins Remains Jailed On Charges Of Human Trafficking, Sexual Assault, Luring, Child Endangerment,& Narcotics Offenses."

CHATHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ.- A 25-Year-Old Newark, New Jersey man will remain Detained in The Morris County Correctional Facility pending Trial on Charges in connection with Supplying Narcotics to a 14-Year-Old Girl and a 15-Year-Old Girl in Exchange for Sexual Favors.


     According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, it has been Alleged that Between August 1, 2023, and September 28, 2023, Nafis H. Wiggins, 25, of Newark, New Jersey, provided Two Girls, Ages 14 and 15 with Narcotics in Exchange for Sexual Favors, Recruiting and Luring the Girls Via Text Messages. On several occasions, Mr. Wiggins met with the Girls at Locations in Chatham Township and Chatham Borough and transported the Girls to Secluded Areas to engage in Drug-Fueled Sexual Activity. At the time of his Arrest on December 18, 2023, at Cougar Field in Chatham Township, Wiggins was found to be in Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances.


     Accordingly, Wiggins was Taken into Custody and Formally Charged with Two Counts of First Degree Human Trafficking; Two Counts of Second Degree Luring; Five Counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault; Two Counts of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; One Count of Third Degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute; and Third Degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.


     Mr. Wiggins was Processed on The Charges and was Remanded to The Morris County Correctional Facility. Following his First Appearance and a Subsequent Detention Hearing, a Morris County Superior Court Judge deemed that because of The Nature and Severity of The Charges, Mr. Wiggins would Remain Detained pending the Resolution of The Charges Filed Against him.
