27-YEAR-OLD MOUNT LAUREL WOMAN CONVICTED OF MURDER IN THE 2019 STABBING DEATH OF HER MOTHER

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ.- A 27-Year-Old Mount Laurel, New Jersey woman has been convicted for The September 2019 Brutal Stabbing Death of her 56-Year-Old mother inside the residence they shared at The Ramblewood Apartment Complex.
Following a Bench Trial in Burlington County Superior Court, The Honorable Terrence R. Cook, J.S.C. returned Guilty Verdicts yesterday Convicting Marisa Rivera, 27, of Mount Laurel on The Charges of First Degree Murder; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
Sentencing in The Matter has been Scheduled for March 8, 2024, at which time Ms. Rivera will face the potential Term of Life in New Jersey State Prison.
The Conviction stems from an incident, when on September 6, 2019, the body of Ms. Rivera's Mother, Denise DeNapoli, 56, was discovered by Members of The Mount Laurel Police Department. Police Officers went to the Apartment to conduct a Welfare Check after Co-Workers did not hear from Ms. DeNapoli, who had been scheduled to work from home that day.
A Swift-Moving Investigation determined that Ms. Rivera Murdered Ms. DeNapoli around 3:30 a.m. on September 6, 2019, following an argument. Rivera then Fled the Apartment and was located several hours later at a Hotel located on Route 73 in Mount Laurel and was Taken into Custody without incident.
A subsequent autopsy performed by The Burlington County Medical Examiner's Office determined that the cause of Ms DeNapoli's Death was Multiple Stab Wounds and the manner of Death was Homicide.
