28-YEAR-OLD FORMER JERSEY CITY MAN NABBED IN SOUTH CAROLINA FOR HIS ROLE IN A 2021 MURDER

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- A 28-Year-Old Former Jersey City, New Jersey man Wanted for his Role in The 2021 Jersey City Shooting Death of Ahmad Tybear was Apprehended Yesterday in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Tybear Miles, 28, Formerly of Jersey City, New Jersey is Charged with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Miles was Taken into Custody on Thursday, January 11, 2024, by The Spartanburg Police Department in conjunction with The United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Miles is currently being Detained in The Spartanburg County Detention Center on The Charge of being a Fugitive From Justice. An Extradition Hearing will be Scheduled within the next 30 Days, following the hearing Mr. Miles will be returned to New Jersey to Stand Trial on The Charges.
The Charges stem from an incident, that on Saturday, June 5, 2021, just around 10:00 p.m., Members of The Jersey City Police Department responded to Multiple 911 Emergency Calls reporting Gunfire in the area of Stegman Street and Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Ahmad Tybear, 22, of Jersey City with a Life-Threatening Gunshot Wound to his Stomach. Mr. Tybear was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased.
