39-YEAR-OLD CAMDEN MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER FOR THE NOVEMBER 2023 SHOOTING DEATH OF A MAN
"Marcus Davenport Was Charged On Monday With Murder & Weapons Offenses For The Fatal Shooting Of Anthony Young."

CAMDEN, NJ.- A 39-Year-Old Camden, New Jersey man was Charged in connection with the November 20, 2023, Shooting that ultimately resulted in the Death of a Camden City man, who succumbed to his injuries on December 15, 2023.
According to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, on Monday, January 22, 2024, Marcus Davenport, 39, of Camden, New Jersey was Taken into Custody in Camden, New Jersey, and Formally Charged with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon for The Shooting Death of Anthony Young, 38, of Camden, New Jersey.
The Charges stem from an incident, when on November 20, 2023, shortly after 9:00 p.m., Members of The Camden County Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call Reporting the Shooting of a Person on Hunter Drive in Camden.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found Mr. Young suffering from a Gunshot Wound. Mr. Young was immediately transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he remained until December 15, 2023, when he succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased.
Following an investigation by Members of The Camden County Homicide Unit and The Camden County Police Department, Detectives were able to Identify Marcus Davenport as a Suspect and the Individual responsible for The Death of Mr. Young.
