BREAKING: Bayonne, New Jersey Man Charged In 2023 Hit & Run

ON FRIDAY, A 66-YEAR-OLD BAYONNE MAN WAS ARRESTED FOR RUNNING DOWN A WOMAN & FLEEING THE SCENE

     "Rey Rosario Has Been Charged In Connection With The February 2023 Pedestrian Hit & Run That Left A Woman Seriously Injured On A Jersey City Street."

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Following an investigation a 66-Year-Old Bayonne, New Jersey man was Arrested on Friday and Charged in connection with a Hit And Run Crash that Seriously Injured a 39-Year-Old Jersey City, New Jersey woman that occurred on February 10, 2023.


     According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Members of The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit has Charged Rey Rosario, 66, of Bayonne, New Jersey with Third Degree Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury; and Third Degree Endangering an Injured Victim. Rosario was Arrested on Monmouth Street in Jersey City on Friday, January 5, 2024, and released pending Future Court Proceedings.


     The Charges stem from an incident when on Friday, February 10, 2023, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Members of The Jersey City Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Woman had been Struck by a Car at the Intersection of Communipaw Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 39-Year-Old Jersey City Woman in The Roadway suffering from Multiple Serious Injuries. The Woman was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment. After Hitting the Woman, the Vehicle Fled the Scene.


"The Rules Of The Court Require Us To Include A Statement, That States: The Charges Outlined In This Publication Are Merely Accusations And The Defendant And Or Defendants Are Presumed Innocent Unless And Until Proven Guilty Beyond Reasonable Doubt."
