ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- Following an investigation, on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, LaQuay DuBose, 37, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, who is currently Employed as an Atlantic City Police Officer was Formally Charged with Third Degree Theft, for Allegedly Spending a Large Sum of Money that was deposited into his Account, Due to a Banking Error.
The Charge stems from an incident, when on March 21, 2023, Bank Employees mistakingly Deposited a Check in the Amount of $100,000. into Officer DuBose's Checking Account. Six Days later, on March 27, 2023, Bank Personnel realized the error and withdrew the money, and Closed Officer DuBose's Checking Account. During the Six Day Period, Officer DuBose withdrew and spent over $35,000.00 resulting in his Account being overdrawn by $35,903.17, creating a loss for The Bank.
