29-YEAR-OLD HOWELL MAN ADMITS GUILT TO KILLING PET CAT AND THEN ATTACKING HIS ROOMMATE

FREEHOLD, NJ.- A 29-Year-Old Howell Township, New Jersey man Pleaded Guilty to Charges of Intentionally Killing his Pet Cat and Attacking his Roommate, back in March 2023, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago.
During a Hearing on Monday, December 4, 2023, Christopher Sanchez Pled Guilty to Charges of Third Degree Animal Cruelty by Unnecessarily or Cruelly Abusing a Living Animal, Resulting in its Death, and Simple Assault a Disorderly Persons Offense.
An investigation into Mr. Sanchez's Activities was Launched after Members of The Howell Township Police Department responded to an Unrelated Matter at a Howell Township, New Jersey Residence. When Police Officers arrived they found the Body of a Dead Cat outside of the Home.
An ensuing investigation by Members of The Howell Township Police Department and The Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Humane Law Enforcement Division determined that The Cat, named Lilith belonged to Mr. Sanchez, who had used a Sharp Instrument to Kill the Cat Two Days Earlier.
Mr. Sanchez was Arrested on the same day as the initial Police response on a Charge of Simple Assault for Physically Attacking his Roommate shortly after Killing the Cat.
Sentencing in this matter has been scheduled for Friday, January 26, 2024, in Monmouth County Superior Court, at which time Mr. Sanchez Faces a Potential New State Prison Term of Five Years.
