BREAKING: Garfield, New Jersey Man Charged With Child Pornography Offenses

56-YEAR-OLD GARFIELD MAN CHARGED WITH THE PRODUCTION AND POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

     "Jorge E. Mendez Was Taken Into Custody Yesterday & Charged With First Degree Production & Second Degree Possession Of Child Pornography."

GARFIELD, NJ.- Following an investigation a 56-Year-Old Married Garfield, New Jersey man was Arrested yesterday a Charged with The Production and Possession of Child Pornography.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, Members of The Bergen County Cyber Crimes Unit Executed a Court Authorized Search Warrant at the Residence of Jorge E. Mendez, 56, of Garfield, New Jersey, during the course of Internet Child Sexual Abuse Material Investigation. 

     During the investigation, Detectives uncovered that Mr. Mendez used the Internet to View, Download, and Possess more than 1700 Digital Images depicting Nude and or Sexually Explicit Pubescent and Prepubescent Children. In addition, Mr. Mendez used a Hidden Camera to Record a Child in their Home for Mr. Mendez's Sexual Gratification.

     Accordingly, Mr. Mendez was Taken into Custody at the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and Formally Charged with First Degree Production of Child Pornography; and Second Degree Possession of Child Pornography.

     Mendez was Processed on The Charges and Remanded to The Bergen County Jail pending Future Court Proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
