BREAKING: Newark, New Jersey Man Convicted

28-YEAR-OLD NEWARK MAN WILL SPEND THE NEXT 35 YEARS IN PRISON FOR COMMITTING 3 ROBBERIES

     "Anthony Torres Has Been Convicted On Charges In Connection With A November 15, 2020 String Of Robberies."

NEWARK, NJ.- Today, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II reported, that a Jury sitting in Essex County, New Jersey has returned Guilty Verdicts against a 28-Year-Old Newark, New Jersey man in connection with Three Robberies that he committed on November 15, 2020.



     The Conviction stems from an incident that occurred when on November 15, 2023, Anthony Torres, 28, of Newark, New Jersey was captured on video driving a stolen getaway car from a Robbery of a person he just committed on a Newark, New Jersey Street. Later in the day, Torres again Robbed Two Individuals on different Streets in Newark.


     Following a Five-Day Trial before The Honorable Arthur Batista, J.S.C., The Jury Deliberated for Four Days before Finding Torres Guilty of Second Degree Robbery; Conspiracy to Commit Robbery; and Receiving Stolen Property. 


     Sentencing in the matter has been Scheduled for January 19, 2024, at which time Torres faces up to 35-Years in New Jersey State Prison.
