BREAKING: UPDATE: Lodi, New Jersey Fire Investigation

WOMAN SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES IN A FRIDAY MORNING FIRE IN LODI, NEW JERSEY

     " Bergen County Authorities Have Ruled A Friday Morning Fire That Claimed The Life Of An Elderly Woman As Accidental."

LODI, NJ.- A Woman who was first reported as being 101-Years-Old and Hospitalized in Critical Condition after being found Unresponsive from injuries she sustained in a Friday Morning Fire inside her Lodi, New Jersey Apartment has succumbed to her injuries, has been identified as Judy Reifel, 100, of Lodi, New Jersey.


     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Friday, October 13, 2023, at approximately 8:02 a.m., Members of The Lodi Police Department and The Lodi Volunteer Fire Department responded to a Fire Alarm Activation from a Rennie Place Apartment. 


     Upon arrival, First Responders made entry into the Apartment and located a woman, later identified as Judy Reifel, 100, Unresponsive after sustaining injuries. Ms. Reifel was immediately transported to Hackensack University Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries sustained in The Fire and was subsequently pronounced deceased.


     The ensuing investigation by Bergen County Authorities were able to determine that the Fire was Accidentally Set and does not appear to be suspicious.
