BREAKING: Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey Man Charged Shooting Death Of Girlfriend

     " Kevin Dorsey Has Been Charged With Murder & Weapons Offenses For Shooting Charlena Burnett To Death Last Night."

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ.- A 51-Year-Old Egg Harbor Township man was Arrested last night after admitting to Police Officers that he Shot and Killed his 44-Year-Old live-in Girlfriend, Charlena Burnett.


     According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William Reynold, on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 7:30 p.m., Members of The Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call located at 374 Zion Road in The Township reporting a Shooting.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers found Ms. Burnett deceased in the residence from Multiple Gunshot Wounds. After admitting to Police Officers that he had Shot and Killed Ms. Burnett, Dorsey was placed under Arrest. Ms. Burnett and Mr. Dorsey were both residents of the home on Zion Road and were in a Dating Relationship.


     After being transported to Egg Harbor Township Police Headquarters, Dorsey was Formally Charged with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Second Degree Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons. Dorsey was Processed on The Charges and Remanded to The Atlantic County Justice Facility pending Future Court Proceedings.
