BREAKING: Bridgeton, New Jersey Man Charged In Trenton, New Jersey Homicide

46-YEAR-OLD BRIDGETON MAN WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED IN LAST THURSDAY'S STABBING DEATH

     " James B. Draper Was Arrested Yesterday & Has Been Charged With The October 19, 2023 Fatal Stabbing Of Corey Jones of Trenton, New Jersey."

TRENTON, NJ.- Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported that on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, a 46-Year-Old Bridgeton, New Jersey man was Arrested and Charged in connection with The Stabbing Death of Corey Jones, who was Stabbed Multiple Times and Left to Die on a Trenton City Street.



     James B. Draper, 46, of Bridgeton, New Jersey has been Charged with One Count of First Degree Murder; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Second Degree Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons. Mr. Draper was Taken into Custody in Bridgeton, New Jersey yesterday. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office will File a Pretrial Detention Motion to have Mr. Draper Detained pending the outcome of The Charges Filed against him.


     Last week, just around 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023, Members of The Trenton Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an Unresponsive man in the area of Cross Street and Kersey Alley in The City of Trenton.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Corey Jones, 40, of Trenton, New Jersey, on the Ground in the Sidewalk Area suffering from Multiple Stab Wounds. Mr. Jones was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later.


     The investigation is active and ongoing.
