60-YEAR-OLD BLOOMFIELD WOMAN TRAGICALLY KILLED WHILE CROSSING BUSY INTERSECTION

BLOOMFIELD, NJ.- Essex County Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding an Accident that Claimed the Life of a 60-Year-Old Bloomfield woman who was Struck by a Car last night while Crossing at a busy Bloomfield intersection.
According to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II on Friday, October 20, 2023, at approximately 7:24 p.m., Members of The Bloomfield Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call Reporting that an Individual had been Struck by a Motor Vehicle at the Intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Grove Street in Bloomfield, New Jersey.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a woman, identified as Nelly Fernandez, 60, of Bloomfield having sustained Life-Threatening Injuries. Ms. Fernandez was immediately transported to University Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later. The Driver of the Vehicle that Struck Ms. Fernandez remained at the scene.
