35-YEAR-OLD MAN CHARGED WITH THE SEXUAL ASSAULT ON A 4-YEAR-OLD BOY

UNION CITY, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that on Monday, July 31, 2023, Members of The United States Marshals Service New York, New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force Arrested Jose Romero, 35, of Union City, New Jersey on Charges related to The Sexual Assault of a 4-Year-Old Boy. Romero is not related to the Boy and resides in a Home where the Child visited.

     Mr. Romero, of Union City, is Charged with One County of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Romero was Taken into Custody at his residence and transported to The Hudson County Correctional Facility. The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office has filed a Pretrial Detention Motion to have Romero Detained pending the outcome of The Charges Filed Against him. A Hearing on the Motion has been Scheduled for Friday, August 4, 2023.
