NEWARK, NJ.- On Sunday, July 30, 2021, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II reported that The Essex County Homicide Task Force in conjunction with Rutgers Newark University Police Department continue the Investigation into the circumstances surrounding the Death of a Woman who was found outside a University Building on Saturday Afternoon.
On Saturday, July 29, 2023, Members of The Rutgers University Police Department were notified of an Unresponsive Woman found outside a University Building located on The 100 Block of Bleecker Street in Newark. The Woman, identified as Jaleila Wilson, 42, of Newark, New Jersey, was immediately transported to University Hospital, where she went into Cardiac Arrest and was pronounced deceased at 4:28 p.m.
