VICTIMS IN SATURDAY'S MURDER, SUICIDE HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED BY OCEAN COUNTY AUTHORITIES

LITTLE EGG HARBOR, NJ.- Yesterday, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer reported that the Victim in The Murder/Suicide that occurred in Little Egg Harbor Township on Saturday, July 29, 2023, has been identified as Kimberly Hoffman, 49, of Little Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. The Suspect has been identified as Ms. Hoffman's Ex-Husband, Carl Schulz, 52, also of Little Egg Harbor Township.
On Saturday, July 29, 2023, at approximately 5:10 a.m., Members of The Little Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting that a Woman was stating that someone was trying to Break Into her Apartment, located at Whitemarsh Court.
Upon arrival, Police Officers made entry into the apartment, where they located the deceased body of Ms. Hoffman, with an apparent Gunshot Wound to her Face. The Family's Dog was also found deceased from Multiple Gunshot Wounds. Officers also found Mr. Schulz suffering from an apparent Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound to his Head. Mr. Schulz was immediately transported to AlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where he succumbed to his injury and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later.
Detectives from The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and The Little Egg Harbor Township Police Department were able to determine that Mr. Schulz Shot Ms. Hoffman, and the Dog, before turning the Gun on Himself.
