BREAKING: Florida Man Sentenced To Prison

FLORIDA MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR SENSELESS KILLING OF A FATHER OF THREE IN BJ'S PARKING LOT

     " Ariel Dumit Has Been Sentenced To 30-Years In New Jersey State Prison For The 2021 Shooting Death Of Christian Parra Of Jersey City."

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that yesterday, The Honorable Carlo Abad, J.S.C. Sentenced Ariel Dumit, 38, of Florida, to 30 Years in New Jersey State Prison for the February 2021 Senseless Shooting Death of Christian Parra, 34, of Jersey City, New Jersey.

     On Tuesday, April 18, 2023, Dumit was Convicted at Trial of First Degree Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Mr. Dumit will be required to Serve 30 Years in New Jersey State Prison before becoming Eligible for Parole. 

     On Sunday, February 28, 2021, at approximately 8:18 p.m., Jersey City Police Officers responded to The BJ's Parking Lot located at 396 Marin Boulevard in Jersey City on Multiple 911 Emergency Calls reporting a Shooting. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Christian Parra, 34, of Jersey City, suffering from an apparent Gunshot Wound to his Stomach.

     Mr. Parra was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injury and was subsequently pronounced deceased at 9:00 p.m. The Regional Medical Examiners' Office ruled the Cause and the Manner of Death to be a Homicide by Shooting. 

     A Swift-Moving Investigation by Detrctives of The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit in conjunction with The Jersey City Police Department was quickly able to identify Mr. Dumit as The Shooter and the Individual responsible for the Death of Mr. Parra, a Married Father of Three. Further, Detectives were able to track Dumit, formerly of Jersey City to Florida where Florida Authorities took him into Custody Six Weeks after The Shooting Death of Mr. Parra.
