MAPLEWOOD, NJ.- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II reported that a 27-Year-Old Brooklyn, New York man was Taken into Custody and Charged for Luring a 14-Year-Old Girl to a Maplewood, New Jersey Park for a Sexual Encounter.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit received a tip that an Adult Male was exchanging messages with a 14-Year-Old Girl whom he met on a Dating App. The messages escalated into a plan to meet in person for Sexual Activity.
Detectives from The Essex County Special Victims Unit and The Maplewood Police Department set up Surveillance at the Park and the predetermined meeting place. When the Suspect arrived at the location, the Detectives placed him under Arrest.
The Suspect has been identified as Nazarjon Abdukahorov, 27, of Brooklyn, New York, and was Formally Charged with Second Degree Luring; and Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Abdukahorov was Processed on The Charges and Remanded to The Essex County Correctional Facility pending the resolution of The Charges Filed Against him.
