BREAKING: Elmwood Park, New Jersey Man Charged

BERGEN COUNTY AUTHORITIES CHARGE A 35-YEAR-OLD ELMWOOD PARK MAN WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A CHILD

ELMWOOD PARK, NJ.- Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported that on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, a 35-Year-Old Elmwood Park man was Taken into Custody and Charged with Sexually Assaulting a Child between the ages of 13 and 16  Years Old. The arrest stems from an investigation by Members of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and The Elmwood Park Police Department.


     On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, Members of The Elmwood Police Department contacted Members of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit regarding The Alleged Sexual Assault of a Child. An investigation by The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office in conjunction with The Elmwood Police Department quickly determined that Alejandro Suaza-Munoz, 35, Sexually Assaulted the Child, who was under the Age of Sixteen, but Older that Thirteen, on Multiple Occasions in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.


     Accordingly, Mr. Suaza-Munoz was Charged with One Count of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and Three Counts of Fourth Degree Criminal Sexual Contact. Suaza-Munoz was Processed on The Charges and remanded to The Bergen County Jail.

LITTLE EGG HARBOR, NJ.- Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer reported that Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstance surrounding Saturday Morning's apparent Murder, Suicide, that has claimed the life of a 49-Year-Old Ocean County Woman, her Dog, and a 52-Year-Old Man.



     On Saturday, July 29, 2023, just after 5:00 a.m., Members of The Little Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to an Apartment on Whitemarsh Court, following a 911 Emergency Call reporting that someone was trying to Break Into her Apartment. Upon arrival, Police Officers made entry into the Apartment, where they made the grim discovery that a 49-Year-Old Woman had been Shot in the Face and was deceased. They found the Body of a Dog, deceased from Multiple Gunshot Wounds.


     Police Officers then found a 52-Year-Old Man, suffering from an apparent Gunshot Wound to his Head. The Man was immediately transported to AtlaniCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.


     The preliminary investigation by Ocean County Authorities determined that the Man entered the Apartment, Shot the Woman, then her Dog, before turning The Gun on Himself. The investigation remains active and ongoing.

BREAKING: Arrest Made In July 4th Paterson, New Jersey Shooting

26-YEAR-OLD PATERSON MAN ARRESTED FOR SHOOTING TWO MEN ON JULY 4, 2023

     " Anderson Martinez Was Taken Into Custody & Charged With Attempted Murder, & Weapons Offenses For A July 4th Late Night Paterson Shooting."

PATERSON, NJ.- On Thursday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes reported that following an investigation into the Shooting of Two Men on July 4, 2023, a 26-Year-Old Paterson, New Jersey Man has been Arrested and Charged in connection with that Shooting.


     On July 4, 2023, at approximately 11:34 p.m., Members of The Paterson Police Department were notified that a 20-Year-Old Paterson Man and a 19-Year-Old Paterson Man had arrived at Saint Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, both seeking treatment for Non-Life Threatening Gunshot Wounds. Based on the initial investigation Police Officers determined that both Men were Struck by Gunfire in the area of Essex and Madison Streets in Paterson. Police Officers were able to locate a crime scene in that area.



     A Swift-Moving investigation by Members of The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office in conjunction with Detectives of The Paterson Police Department was quickly able to identify Anderson Martinez, 26, of Paterson, New Jersey as a Suspect and the individual responsible for Shooting the Two Men and a Warrant was issued for Mr. Martinez's Arrest.


     On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 3:00 a.m., Members of The Paterson Police Department were able to locate and Arrest Mr. Martinez in the area of 21st Avenue and Chestnut Street in Paterson.


     Accordingly, Mr. Martinez was Formally Charged with First Degree Attempted Murder; Second Degree Aggravated Assault; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Second Degree Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons. Mr. Martinez was Processed on The Charges and remanded to The Passaic County Jail pending a Pretrial Detention Hearing which will be Heard in Passaic County State Superior Court.


     If Convicted on all the Charges Mr. Martinez will face a Potential New Jersey State Prison Sentence of Twenty Years in Prison.

VINELAND, NJ.- Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae reported that Detectives are continuing the investigation into a Vineland Double Stabbing that has Claimed the Life of a 60-Year-Old Woman and Left a 51-Year-Old Man Hospitalized in Critical Condition.


     On Friday, July 28, 2023, at approximately 1:46 a.m., Members of The Vineland Police Department responded to a residence located on The 600 Block of Ridgewood Avenue in The City of Vineland on a report of a Stabbing.



     Upon arrival, Police Officers found Two Victims who had sustained Multiple Stab Wounds. One of the victims, Sharon Taylor, 60, had succumbed to her injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased inside the home. The Second victim, James Taylor, 51, was airlifted to Cooper Hospital where he remains in Critical Condition. 


     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Detective C. JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that on Friday, July 28, 2023, The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Investigations Unit Arrested and Charged a Jersey City Quality Life Inspector following a Theft Investigation.


     Zamir Thomas, 31, of Jersey City, New Jersey, was Arrested at The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Secaucus, New Jersey, and Charged with One Count of Third Degree Theft by Deception. Mr. Thomas was Processed on the Charge and released on a Summons pending a First Appearance in Hudson County Central Judicial Processing Court.



     According to authorities, Detectives determined that Mr. Thomas while being paid as a Quality of Life Inspector spent several hours at his Jersey City residence on Multiple Occasions instead of performing his required duties as a City Inspector.

BREAKING: Virginia Man Extradited To New Jersey

VIRGINIA MAN RETURNED TO NEW JERSEY IN CONNECTION WITH THE SHOOTING DEATH OF COUNCILWOMAN

     " Rashid Ali Bynum Will Now Face Charges In The Execution Style Shooting Death Of Sayreville Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour."

SAYREVILLE, NJ.- On Friday, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone reported that Rashid Ali Bynum, 28, of Portsmouth, Virginia has been returned to New Jersey to Face Charges for the Fatal Shooting of Sayreville Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour, 30, of Sayreville, New Jersey.



     On February 1, 2023, at approximately 7:22 p.m., Members of The Sayreville Police Department responded to Samuel Circle in Sayreville on a report of Shots Fired. Upon arrival, Police Officers found Town Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour unresponsive inside her vehicle, having sustained Multiple Gunshot Wounds. Ms. Dwumfour was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.



     Following an investigation, On May 30, 2023, Mr. Bynum was Arrested and Charged in connection with the Shooting Death of Ms. Dwumfour. Bynum was Taken into Custody outside a Residence in Chesapeake City, Virginia without incident. 


     Mr. Bynum was Formally Charged with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. Following an Extradition Hearing earlier in July,  On Thursday, July 27, 2023, Mr. Bynum was returned to New Jersey and is now Lodged in The Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility pending a Pretrial Detention Hearing.


     The investigation remains active and ongoing. RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ.- Today, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the Filing of Additional Charges against a 61-Year-Old Ridgefield Park, New Jersey man for The Alleged Multiple Sexual Assault of a Second Victim under the Age of Thirteen.



     On Tuesday, July 11, 2023, The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit received information regarding the Alleged Sexual Assault of a Child under the Age of Thirteen on Multiple Occasions in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. An investigation ensued and Detectives determined that Humberto Duenas, 61, of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey committed the Alleged Sex Crimes upon The Child and Mr. Duenas was Arrested and Charged.  


     Then again on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, while conducting the investigation, Detectives received additional information that Mr. Duenas had Sexually Assaulted a Second Child under the Age Of Thirteen on Multiple Occasions in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey.


     As a result of the ongoing investigation, on Thursday, July 27, 2023, Humberto Duenas was Arrested in Paramus, New Jersey, and Charged with Two Counts of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; Second Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; Two Counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault; and Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. 


     Mr. Duenas was Processed on The Charges and Remanded to The Bergen County Jail pending his First Appearance in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.

NEWARK, NJ.- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II reported that Detectives of The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Task Force are investigating the Fatal Shooting of a 52-Year-Old Newark man who was Gunned Down last night on a Newark, New Jersey Street.


     On Thursday, July 27, 2023, Members of The Newark Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Shooting on The 300 Block of Wainwright Street in Newark. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Eddie Boykin, 52, of Newark outside at that location, unresponsive from Multiple Gunshot Wounds. Mr. Boykins was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene. 


     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No Arrests have been made at this time. PARAMUS, NJ.- Today, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced that Charges against a 45-Year-Old Paramus man have been upgraded after the Motorcyclist he Struck while Driving Under the Influence Early Sunday Morning succumbed to his injuries yesterday in hospital.


     On Sunday, July 23, 2023, just before 1:00 a.m., Members of The Paramus Police Department responded to a Serious Motor Vehicle Crash on Fairview Avenue between Hemlock Drive and Hasse Avenue in Paramus. Upon arrival, Police Officers located a 2021 Mercedes Benz operated by Jose Santos, 45, of Paramus that had Struck a 2015 Yamaha Motorcycle operated by Cody Cleary, 28, also from Paramus, New Jersey. Mr. Cleary was immediately transported to Hackensack University Hospital, where on Thursday, July 27, 2023, Mr. Cleary succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.


     The initial investigation by Members of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and The Paramus Police Department determined that Mr. Santos was Operating his Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol. Santos was Arrested at the Scene and Charged with Third Degree Assault by Auto Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, While Driving Intoxicated; and was also issued several Motor Vehicle Summonses.


     Yesterday, July 27, 2023, Detectives of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit were notified that Mr. Cleary succumbed to his injuries and Died in the Hospital. Mr. Santos was then Charged with One Count of First Degree Aggravated Manslaughter; Second Degree Vehicular Homicide; and Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. 


     Mr. Santos was Served with the Additional Charges at The Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey where he has been detained since being first Arrested Sunday Morning. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office has Filed a Pretrial Detention Motion to have Santos Detained pending the resolution of the Charges Filed Against him. A Hearing has been Scheduled for August 2, 2023, in Bergen County State Superior Court.

MILLVILLE, NJ.- On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae reported that Members of The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office in conjunction with Detectives of The Millville Police Department are continuing their investigation into the Stabbing Death of a 40-Year-Old Millville, New Jersey man.


     On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at approximately 4:44 p.m., Members of The Millville Police Department responded to The 600 Block of High Street in Millville, on a report of Shots being Fired. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Salmadine Johnson, 40, of Millville, Dead from an apparent Stab Wound. Mr. Johnson was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.


     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No Arrests have been made at this time. BREAKING: Dover, New Jersey Man Charged

AN APPARENT FIGHT ENDS WITH ONE DEAD AND ONE IN CUSTODY

     " Wilfredo Cabrera-Masariegos Has Been Charged With Manslaughter In Connection With The Death Of Rene Rivera-Hernandez."

DOVER, NJ.- Yesterday, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll reported that a 34-Year-Old Dover, New Jersey man was taken into Custody and Charged in connection with the Death of a 47-Year-Old Homeless Man.



     On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, just before 2:00 a.m., Members of The Dover Police Department responded to the Railroad Tracks near West Clinton Street in Dover on a report of a deceased individual. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Rene Rivera-Hernandez, 47, a Homeless Individual who, from time to time frequented the Dover Area, deceased along the Tracks.


     An examination by The Morris County Medical Examiner's Office determined The Cause of Death was Blunt Force Injury to the Head and The Manner of Death to be Homicide.


     A Swift-Moving Investigation by Members of The Morris County Prosecutor's Office, Detectives of The Dover Police Department, and The Morris County Sheriff's Office quickly determined that in the late evening hours of Tuesday, July 25, 2023, Mr. Rivera-Hernandez was under the Highway Bridge with Wilfredo Cabrera-Masariegos, 34, of Dover, New Jersey. Further investigation determined an apparent altercation between the two men, at which time Mr. Cabrera-Masariegos Struck Mr. Rivera-Hernandez in the Head with a Rock Killing him.


     Accordingly, as a result of the investigation, On Thursday, July 27, 2023, Mr. Cabrera-Masariegos was Charged with One Count of Second Degree Manslaughter; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Cabrera-Masariegos was Processed on the Charges and Remanded to The Morris County Correctional Facility pending a Pretrial Detention Hearing.

PARAMUS, NJ.- Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported that Detectives of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit are actively investigating a Paramus, New Jersey Motor Vehicle Crash that has left a Motorcyclist Hospitalized with Serious Injuries.


     On Sunday, July 23, 2023, at approximately 12:58 a.m., Members of The Paramus Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Motor Vehicle Crash between a Car and Motorcycle had occurred on Fairview Avenue in Paramus. Upon arrival, Police Officers located the Crash. The Motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

ONE DEAD, ANOTHER HOSPITALIZED IN A LATE SATURDAY NIGHT CAMDEN SHOOTING

CAMDEN, NJ.- Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay reported that Detectives of The Camden County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a late Saturday night Shooting that Killed a 47-Year-Old Camden man, and has left another man Hospitalized.


     On Saturday, July 22, 2023, at approximately 10:32 p.m., Members of The Camden County Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting Two Men being Shot in the area of South 4th and Royden Streets in Camden. Upon arrival, Police Officers found Two Men, Jose Bonilla, 47, of Camden, and a 38-Year-Old Camden Man suffering from Multiple Gunshot Wounds. 


     Both men were immediately transported to Cooper University Hospital, where Mr. Bonilla succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased at 10:40 p.m.


     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No Arrests have been made at this time.

ABSECON, NJ.- Atlantic County Prosecutor William Reynolds reported that Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding yesterday's early morning Motor Vehicle Crash that Tragically Claimed the Life of an Eight Year Old Child.


     On Sunday, July 23, 2023, at approximately 3:25 a.m., Members of The Absecon Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Motor Vehicle Crash on Route 30 Westbound, involving Two Vehicles. The initial investigation determined that a 2019 Nissan Sentra, being operated by Edward Johnson, 25, of Egg Harbor City, New Jersey. Mr. Johnson was traveling Westbound on White Horse Pike when his car went off the roadway and Struck a 1995 Honda that was parked on the shoulder. 


     The investigation further revealed that an Eight Year Old Boy, who had been Fishing with his Father was Asleep in the Honda when it was Struck from behind by Mr. Johnson's Car. The Boy was transported to the Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.


     Mr. Johnson was issued several Motor Vehicle Summonses. Additional Charges may follow at the conclusion of the investigation into the Final Cause of the Crash.

LAKEWOOD, NJ.- Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer reported that Angel Garcia-Rodriguez, 26, of Lakewood, New Jersey, was Taken into Custody and Charged with Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash Resulting in a Death; and Endangering an Injured Victim, in connection with an Early Saturday Morning Car Crash that occurred in Lakewood Township, New Jersey.



     On Saturday, July 22, 2023, at approximately 2:25 a.m., Members of The Lakewood Township Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Serious Motor Vehicle Crash on James Street in Lakewood Township. Upon arrival, Police Officers located a 2007 Honda Civic that had Struck a Utility Pole. Police Officers discovered that the Driver of the Honda had Fled the Scene, and left his Critically Injured Male Passenger in the Car. The man was immediately transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.


     The ensuing investigation by Members of The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Vehicular Homicide Unit and The Lakewood Township Police Department quickly determined that The Honda Civic was traveling Westbound on James Street when Mr. Garcia-Rodriguez lost control of the car and Struck a Utility Pole on the Passenger's Side Door. After striking the pole, Mr. Garcia-Rodriguez exited the vehicle and Fled the Scene before Police Officers arrived. 


     Garcia-Rodriguez was later located at a residence in Lakewood and was taken into Custody. Garcia-Rodriguez was transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, where a Court Authorized Blood Sample was Taken. Garcia-Rodriguez was then transported to The Ocean County Jail, where he is Lodged pending a Pretrial Detention Hearing.

ELIZABETH, NJ.- On Friday, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel reported that a Roselle man who was Charged in May with the Murders of Two Members of a Family inside their Roselle, New Jersey Home in April, has been returned to New Jersey to face Charges.



     Everoy L. Morrison, 44, of Roselle, New Jersey, was Charged on May 8, 2023, with Two Counts of First Degree Murder and Multiple Weapons Offenses in connection with the Deaths of Keisha Morrison, 45, and her 9-Year-Old Daughter Kelsey Morrison. Mr. Morrison was initially Charged with the Theft of Ms. Morrison's Motor Vehicle after he Committed the Alleged Homicides.



     Back on April 19, 2023, just shortly before 12:00 p.m., Members of The Roselle Police Department responded to a Home located on The 200 Block of West 7th Avenue in Roselle on a report of Two Missing Persons. Upon entry to the Home, Police Officers discovered the Bodies of Ms. Morrison and her 9-Year-Old Daughter, Kelsey. While at the Home, Police Officers quickly determined that Ms. Morrison's Vehicle was missing from the Home. Detectives of The Union County Homicide Task Force and The Roselle Police Department were able to  Track the Vehicle to The State of Maryland, where Mr. Morrison was Stopped and Arrested later on the day of The Homicides. After being stopped, Mr. Morrison was Charged with being in Possession of the Stolen Car. Mr. Morrison was Lodged in The Baltimore County Detention Center in Maryland until Thursday, July 20, 2023, when he was brought back to Union County by Members of The Union County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Investigation Unit.


     During the investigation, Union County Authorities were able to identify, Mr. Morrison as the Suspect and the individual responsible for the Killings. Morrison the Brother-In-Law and Uncle of The Victims had been residing in the Basement of the Home at the time of The Murders.


     "We are appreciative of the collaboration with local and Maryland law enforcement agencies who assisted our Office in locating, apprehending and ultimately bringing Morrison back to New Jersey to face these charges," Prosecutor Daniel stated.

NEWARK, NJ.- Yesterday, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens reported that Detectives of The Essex County Homicide Task Force continue their investigation into the circumstance surrounding an early Saturday Morning Shooting that claimed the Life of a Newark, New Jersey Man.


     On Saturday, July 22, 2023, at approximately 3:16 a.m., Members of The Newark Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call on a report of a Shooting located on The 600 Block of Broadway in Newark, New Jersey.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Carlos Zayas, 32, of Newark, suffering from an apparent Gunshot Wound. Mr. Zayas was immediately transported to University Hospital where he succumbed to his injury and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later.

HACKENSACK, NJ.- Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported that following an investigation into a series of Residential Burglaries throughout The Bergen County Area. On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, Steven Rugeles, 30, Santiago Camargo-Rojas, 24, and Nicholas Buitrago-Grillo, 23, all of Elizabeth, New Jersey were taken into Custody on Charges of Conspiracy to Commit Burglary; Money Laundering; Receiving Stolen Property; Possession of False Government Documents; and Possession of Burglary Tools


     From March 2023 through July 2023, Members of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Investigations Squad investigated a String of Residential Burglaries in and throughout New Jersey. The majority of the Burglaries were committed in Towns throughout Bergen County. The Burglars often targeted homes in affluent areas on Dead End or Cul-De-Sac Streets. The Burglaries occurred during the early evening hours when the homes were not well-lit and appeared the homeowners were not present. Sometimes the Burglars would pose as Delivery Workers to ensure the homes were unoccupied. Once they made entry into the homes they would take High-End Designer Items, Jewelry, and Cash from the Homes.


     During the investigation, on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, Detectives of The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Executed Court Authorized Search Warrants at 1208 Fairmount Avenue and 738 Seaport Drive in Elizabeth, New Jersey. During the Searches, Detectives found Tools commonly used in the commission of Burglaries, an abundance of Jewelry, High-End Watches, and Currency, all believed to be Proceeds of Burglaries committed in Bergen County and other areas in The Tri-State Area. Additionally, Detectives also discovered Fraudulent Government Documents including Driver's Licenses and Passports inside the Searched Locations.


     Accordingly, Mr. Rugeles, Mr. Camargo-Rojas, and Mr. Buitrago-Grillo were taken into custody without incident and Formally Charged with numerous Offenses. All Three Men were Remanded To The Bergen County Jail to await Future Court Proceedings.

MIDLAND PARK, NJ.- Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported that following an investigation by The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit and The Midland Park Police Department a 27-Year-Old Saddle Brook, New Jersey man was Arrested and Charged with The Alleged Sexual Assault of a Child under The Age of Thirteen.



     On Thursday, May 25, 2023, The Midland Park Police Department contacted The Bergen County Special Victims Unit after receiving a report that a Child under The Age of Thirteen. An investigation by Detectives determined that Jonathan Barrios, 27, of Saddle Brook, New Jersey, Sexually Assaulted the Child in Midland Park, New Jersey.


     At the conclusion of the investigation, on Friday, July 14, 2023, Mr. Barrios was Arrested in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, and Formally Charged with One Count of Second Degree Sexual Assault by Sexual Contact; and Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Mr. Barrios was Processed on The Charges and Remanded to The Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey pending his First Appearance and Potential Detention Hearing.

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported on Friday, July 14, 2023, Members of The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit Arrested Vernard Doe, 43, of Jersey City, New Jersey on Multiple Sex Crime Charges that involved a 29-Year-Old Physically Incapacitated Woman. 


     The Alleged Crimes took place on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, inside a Building located on Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City, New Jersey. Mr. Doe was known to the Woman.


     Mr. Doe was Arrested at The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Secaucus, New Jersey.


     After being taken into custody Mr. Doe was formally Charged with One Count of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault on a Physically Helpless Person; Second Degree Aggravated Assault; Second Degree Sexual Assault by Force or Coercion; First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault During the Commission of an Aggravated Assault; 


     Doe was remanded to The Hudson County Correctional Facility. The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office has Filed a Pretrial Detention Motion to have Mr. Doe detained pending the resolution of the Charges Filed Against him. A Hearing on the Motion has been Scheduled for Tomorrow, July 19, 2023, in Hudson County State Superior Court.

Stephens, II reported that Detectives of The Essex County Homicide Task Force are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Sunday's late afternoon Shooting Death of a Newark man in the parking lot of Springfield Avenue Business.


     On Sunday, July 16, 2023, at approximately 5:53 p.m., Members of The Newark Police Department responded to The 300 Block of Springfield Avenue in Newark on a report of a Shooting.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, later identified as Lorenzo Boykins, 52, of Newark, New Jersey, outside in the Parking Lot of a Local Business suffering from Multiple Gunshot Wounds. Mr. Boykins was immediately transported to University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later.
