HUDSON COUNTY COLLISION UNIT INVESTIGATING A FRIDAY NIGHT FATAL HIT AND RUN

     " A Motorcyclist Was Struck & Killed By A Vehicle That Fled The Scene, Leaving The Motorcyclist To Die."

NORTH BERGEN, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit is continuing its investigation into a Collision in which the Operator of a Motorcycle was Fatally Struck by a Vehicle that Fled the Scene.

     On Friday, May 5, 2023, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Members of The North Bergen Police Department responded to a report of a Motorcycle Lying in the Roadway in the area of Granton and Liberty Avenues in North Bergen with no one around.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found the Motorcycle but were unable to locate the Driver. During the initial investigation discovered an injured man, later identified as Joshua Huayamave, 23, of North Bergen in the area of 76th Street, a few blocks from where the Motorcycle was discovered. Mr. Huayamave was immediately transported to Palisades Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
