ONE DEAD, THREE HOSPITALIZED IN IN AN EARLY MORNING SHOOTING IN NEWARK, NEW JERSEY

     " Essex County Authorities Are Continuing To Investigate An Orange Street Shooting."

NEWARK, NJ.- In another act of senseless Gun Violence, a 38-Year-Old Newark man has been Fatally Shot, and Three Hospitalized in less than a week. 

     Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II reported that Members of The Essex County Homicide Task Force are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding an Early Sunday Morning Shooting in Newark, New Jersey.

     On Sunday, May 7, 2023, at approximately 2:58 a.m., Members of The Newark Police Department responded to The 400 Block of Orange Street in Newark on a report of a Shooting. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a Crime Scene and Four Victims suffering from Multiple Gunshot Wounds. One Victim, later identified as Julius K. Ferguson, 38, of Newark, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other Three Victims were immediately transported to University Hospital for treatment, Their condition is unknown.
