NEWARK, NJ.- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II reported that The Essex County Homicide Task Force is investigating a Shooting that occurred Last Night in Newark, that Claimed the Life of a 57-Year-Old Newark man.
On Thursday, May 11, 2023, at approximately 10:25 p.m., Members of The Newark Police Department responded to The 200 Block of Grafton Avenue in Newark on a report of a Shooting. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Romulo Luzuriaga, 57, of Newark, inside his car, suffering from a Gunshot Wound. Mr. Luzuriaga was immediately transported to University Hospital where he succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased at 11:05 p.m.
