Man Arrested In Somerdale Shooting

TEEN CHARGED IN THURSDAY'S SHOOTING OF A 32-YEAR-OLD MAN IN SOMERDALE, NEW JERSEY

     " On Monday, April 10, 2023, Nicholas Stiegler Was Charged In Connection With Thursday Night Shooting On White Horse Pike In Somerdale."

SOMERDALE, NJ.- An 18-Year-Old Lawnside, New Jersey man was Arrested and Charged on Monday in connection with the April 6, 2023, Shooting of a 32-Year-Old man, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. McAulay.


     On Thursday, April 6, 2023, shortly after 6:30 p.m., Members of The Lawnside Police Department, The Somerdale Police Department, The Magnolia Police Department, and The Camden County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit responded to The 400 Block of The White Horse Pike on a report of a Shooting.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a potential crime scene, but no victim was found. A short time later Police Officers were notified that a 32-Year-Old Lawnside, New Jersey man had arrived at Cooper University Hospital seeking treatment for a Non-Life Threatening Gunshot Wound. According to Authorities the man was released from the Hospital, later Thursday Evening.


     A Swift-Moving investigation by Detectives of The Camden County Major Crimes Unit and The Somerdale Police Department was quickly able to identify Nicholas Stiegler, 18, of Lawnside, New Jersey as a Suspect and the individual responsible for The Shooting of the Man.


     On Monday, April 10, 2023, Mr. Stiegler was Arrested by Members of The U.S. Marshals Service New York/ New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force in Pine Hill, New Jersey. Accordingly, Mr. Stiegler was Charged with One Count of Second Degree Aggravated Assault; One Count of Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Fourth Degree Aggravated Assault for Pointing a Weapon. 


     Mr. Stiegler was Processed on the Charges and was Remanded to The Camden County Correctional Facility. The Camden County Prosecutor's Office has Filed a Pretrial Detention Motion to have Mr. Stiegler Detained pending the outcome of the Charges filed against him.
