52-YEAR-OLD FANWOOD MAN CHARGED WITH KIDNAPPING AND SEXUAL ASSAULT ON A 12-YEAR-OLD

FANWOOD, NJ.- On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel reported that a Fanwood, New Jersey man has been Arrested and Charged in connection with the Kidnapping and Sexual Assault of a 12-Year-Old Girl that took place in Irvington and Fanwood last month.
Keith Ashley-Drake, 52, of Fanwood, New Jersey, has been Charged with One Count of First Degree Kidnapping; First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; Second Degree Sexual Assault; and Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
On Friday, March 24, 2023, Members of The Union County Prosecutor's Office Specials Victims Unit were contacted by The Essex County Prosecutor's Office that a Kidnapping had taken place in Irvington on Friday, March 24, 2023, and a subsequent Sexual Assault had occurred in a Fanwood, New Jersey Residence.
A subsequent investigation was launched by Members of The Union County Specials Victims Unit. Detectives quickly determined that on Friday, March 17, 2023, just around 10:00 p.m., a 12-Year-Old Girl had just finished watching a movie and was walking home when she was approached by Mr. Ashley-Drake who coaxed her into his car and drove to his Fanwood Home where he Sexually Assaulted her on Early Saturday Morning, March 18, 2023.
Detectives were able to identify Mr. Ashley-Drake as a Suspect and the individual responsible for the Kidnapping and Sexual Assault of the Child. Mr. Ashley-Drake was Arrested and taken into custody by Detectives and Charged. Ashley-Drake is currently being detained in The Essex County Jail, pending a Detention Hearing that has been Scheduled for Today, April 5, 2023.
