HOWELL MAN CHARGED WITH THE STABBING DEATH OF HIS PET CAT

HOWELL, NJ.- Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago reported that a 29-Year-Old Howell, New Jersey man has been Arrested and Criminally Charged with intentionally Killing his Pet Cat.
Christopher Sanchez, 29, of Howell, stands Charged with Third Degree Animal Cruelty by Unnecessarily or Curelly Abusing a Living Animal, Resulting in Death.
The investigation began when on Friday, March 31, 2023, Members of The Howell Township Police Department responded to a residence on an unrelated matter. Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered the Deceased Body of a Cat outside the Home.
A subsequent investigation by Members of The Howell Township Police Department and The Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Humane Law Enforcement Division quickly determined that the Cat, named Lilith belonged to Mr. Sanchez, who allegedly used a Sharp Instrument to Kill the Cat, Two Days Earlier.
Mr. Sanchez was Arrested and Charged on Friday, March 31, 2023, and transported to The Monmouth County Correctional Institution, pending a Pretrial Detention Hearing which has been tentatively Scheduled for Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in Monmouth County State Superior Court in Freehold, New Jersey.
