UNITED STATES POSTAL EMPLOYEE CHARGED IN NARCOTICS CONSPIRACY INVESTIGATION

     " James Belardo Of West New York, Charged Second Degree Conspiracy To Distribute Cocaine."

WEST NEW YORK, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that a West New York, New Jersey man has been Arrested and Charged following a Months-Long Narcotics Distribution Investigation.


     On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, James Belardo, 41, of West New York was Arrested at The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Secaucus, New Jersey by Members of The Hudson County Narcotics Task Force. 



     Mr. Belardo, a United States Postal Service Employee was Formally Charged with One Count of Second Degree Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine, in a Quantity Greater than One-Half Ounce. Mr. Belardo was Processed on the Charged and released on a Summons pending a First Appearance in Hudson County Central Judicial Processing Court in Jersey City, New Jersey.


     Two Co-Defendants in the case, Rowaldi Caceres, 39, and Hilda Membreno, 29, both of West New York, were previously Arrested. On Sunday, February 26, 2023, Members of The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Task Force Executed a Court Authorized Search Warrant on an Apartment that Caceres and Membreno shared in West New York. The Search resulted in the recovery of More than One Kilogram of Cocaine, with a Street Value of approximately $35,000., a Handgun, Large Capacity Magazines, and approximately $30,000. in Narcotics Proceeds.


     The Following Day, Monday, February 27, 2023, a Court Authorized Search Warrant was Executed on Mr. Caceres' Vehicle and Detectives recovered Hollow Point Bullets and a Second Handgun.


" The Rules Of The Court Require Us To Include A Statement, That States: The Charges Outlined In This Publication Are Merely Accusations And The Defendant And Or Defendants Are Presumed Innocent Unless And Until Proven Guilty Beyond Reasonable Doubt."
