Hoboken New Jersey Teacher Charged

 TEACHER CHARGED FOR ALLEGEDLY HAVING A SEXUALLY EXPLICIT CONVERSATION WITH A MINOR

     " Eric Schau Has Been Charged With Two Counts Of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child."

HOBOKEN, NJ.- On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Arrested a 32-Year-Old Jersey City, New Jersey man following an investigation into a Sexually Explicit Conversation he had with a 14-Year-Old Girl, according to Hudson County Authorities.

     Eric Schau, 32, has been Charged with Two Counts of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Mr. Schau was Arrested and Taken into Custody outside of his Jersey City Home and Lodged in The Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his First Appearance. The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office has filed a Pretrial Detention Motion which has been Scheduled for Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in Hudson County State Superior Court.

     The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received information that an individual, who identified himself as a Teacher, had engaged in a Sexually Explicit Conversation with a Minor Girl on the Social Media Platform Discord. The investigation determined that Mr. Schau shared a Explicit Image and received Child Sex Abuse Material from a 14-Year-Old out of state Girl.

     Mr. Schau was Employed as a Teacher at Elysian Charter School in Hoboken, New Jersey when the alleged Crimes were committed. Mr. Schau has since been terminated from his Teaching Position at the School.
