MILLVILLE MAN CHARGED IN THE TUESDAY AFTERNOON MILLVILLE FATAL SHOOTING

MILLVILLE, NJ.- On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae announced that a 47-Year-Old Millville, New Jersey man was Arrested and Charged in connection with Tuesday Night's Fatal Shooting of Lequint G. Allen.
On Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at approximately 5:13 p.m., Members of The New Jersey State Police responded to The 600 Block of Newport Road in Millville on a report of Shots Fired.
Upon arrival, State Troopers located a man, later identified as Lequint G. Allen, 42, of Millville, suffering from Multiple Gunshot Wounds. Mr. Allen was immediately transported to Inspira Medical Center located in Vineland, New Jersey, where he succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased.
The initial investigation by Authorities determined that Thomas Baker, Jr.,47, of Millville initiated a verbal dispute with Mr. Allen then without provocation Mr. Baker pulled out a Firearm and Fired several Shots striking Mr. Allen Multiple Times.
Detectives were quickly able to identify Mr. Baker as a Suspect and the individual responsible for the Death of Mr. Allen.
On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, Mr. Baker was taken into Custody and Formally Charged with One Count of First Degree Murder; One Count of Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Mr. Baker was processed on the Charges and remanded to The Cumberland County Correctional Center. The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office intends to File a Pretrial Detention Motion to have Mr. Baker detained pending the outcome of the Charges Filed Against him.
