Hopewell New Jersey Man Charged

54 YEAR OLD HOPEWELL MAN CHARGED FOR THE STABBING DEATH OF HIS FATHER

     "Joelle Jackson Has Been Charged With First Degree Murder & Weapons Offenses For The Tuesday Night Stabbing Of His Father."

HOPEWELL, NJ.- On Wednesday, November 23, 2022, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri and Hopewell Police Chief James Rosso jointly announced, a 54-Year-Old Hopewell Township man was taken into custody and Charged with Murdering his Father.



     Joelle Jackson, 54, of Hopewell Township, New Jersey was Charged on Tuesday night, with First Degree Murder; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. 


     On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Members of The Hopewell Township Police Department responded to an Apartment located on The 700 Block of Denow Road on a report of a man being Stabbed.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered a man, later identified as Ishmeal Jackson, 82, lying on the kitchen floor having sustained Multiple Stab Wounds. Mr. Jackson had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.


     An investigation was initiated, Hopewell Township Police notified The Mercer County Homicide Task Force. Detectives were able to determine that on or about Monday, November 21, 2022, Joelle Jackson Stabbed his Father to Death inside the apartment they shared on Denow Road.


     Mr. Jackson was processed on the Charges and remanded The Mercer County Correctional Center. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office has Filed a Pretrial Detention Motion to have Mr. Jackson detained pending the resolution of the Charges filed against him.
