NEWARK MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER AND WEAPONS OFFENSES IN GLOUCESTER SHOOTING

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ.- On Wednesday, August 25, 2022, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins announced a Newark, New Jersey man has been Arrested and Charged in connection with the Shooting of a man in Gloucester Township that occurred on August 5, 2022.
On Friday, August 5, 2022, at approximately 9:49 a.m., Members of The Gloucester Township Police Department responded to a residence located on Hidden Drive on a report of a man being Shot.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a 34-Year-Old man suffering from Multiple Gunshot Wounds. The man was immediately transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey for treatment.
An ensuing investigation by Detectives from The Camden County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit in conjunction with The Gloucester Township Police Department identified Mr. Stafford as a suspect and the person responsible for the Shooting.
On Monday, August 22, 2022, Members of The Riverside Township Police Department Arrested Mr. Stafford on Scott Street, for the Shooting.
Mr. Stafford was formally Charged by Gloucester Township Police with First Degree Attempted Murder; Second Degree Possession Of A Weapon for a Unlawful Purpose; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and Second Degree Certain Persons not to Possess Weapons. Additionally The Riverside Township Police Charged Mr. Stafford with Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
Mr. Stafford was processed on the Charges and remanded to The Camden County Jail pending future Court proceedings.
