MERCER COUNTY AUTHORITIES CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE AN EARLY MORNING HOMICIDE IN EWING

EWING, NJ.- On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced that The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Ewing Police Department are actively investigating an overnight Fatal Shooting in Ewing Township, New Jersey.
On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Members of The Ewing Police Department responded to an apartment on Mid Way Lane on a report of a Shooting.
Upon arrival, Police Officers searched the area and located a man, later identified as Christopher MacLeod, 30, unresponsive having sustained Multiple Gunshot Wounds on a grassy patch near his apartment building. Mr. MacLeod was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The Preliminary investigation determined that Mr. MacLeod was home when there was a knock at his door. Mr MacLeod answered and Shots were heard moments later. Detectives located shell casings in the common walkway area between buildings.
No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation remains active and ongoing. Detectives do not believe this was a random shooting and evidence suggests Mr. MacLeod was the intended target.
