Trenton New Jersey Woman Charged

 TRENTON WOMAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH THE FATAL STABBING OF HER BOYFRIEND 

     " After Being Detained Tahira Young Has Now Been Charged With First Degree Murder & Weapons Offenses In The Stabbing Death Of Antwone Barnes."

TRENTON, NJ.- On Wednesday, February 16, 2022 Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced an investigation by The Mercer County Homicide Task Force has resulted in the Arrest of a Trenton, New Jersey woman, for the Fatal Stabbing of her Boyfriend.



     Tahira Young, 38, of Trenton has been Charged with First Degree Murder; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.


     On Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Members of The Trenton Police Department responded to an apartment located on The 200 Block of East Hanover Street in Trenton on a report of a man being Stabbed.


     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a male victim, later identified as Antwone Barnes, 37, of Trenton, suffering from a single Stab Wound to his Chest. Mr. Barnes had succumbed to his injury and was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.


     Ms. Young who was also located in the residence was detained by authorities and later Charged in The Death of Mr. Barnes. Ms Young was Processed on The Charges and remanded to The Mercer County Correctional Center. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office has Filed a Pretrial Detention Motion which will be heard in Mercer County State Superior Court.
