JERSEY CITY, NJ.- On Thursday, February 24, 2022 Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and The Jersey City Police Department are investigating a Crash that Seriously Injured a 67-Year-Old woman in Jersey City on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.
On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at approximately 1:48 p.m., Members of The Jersey City Police Department responded to the intersection of John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Montgomery Street on a report of a Pedestrian being Struck by a Vehicle. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 67-Year-Old Woman with a Serious Injury to her lower body.
The preliminary investigation by The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit determined the woman was crossing between two stopped vehicles when the rear vehicle accelerated and struck her.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene. The 67-year-old woman was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center. As of yesterday morning, the woman has been reported in stable condition.
The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and The Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this incident.
