Murder Suspect Apprehended

SUSPECT IN SUNDAY'S FATAL SHOOTING IN CAMDEN SHOPPING CENTER HAS BEEN APPREHENDED

     " Shakeem Cook Has Been Charged With Murder & Related Weapons Offenses In The Shooting Death Of Kadeem McBride."

CAMDEN, NJ.- On Thursday, February 17, 2022, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief announced that a 28-Year-Old Camden man, wanted in connection with the the Fatal Shooting of a Sicklerville, New Jersey man on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at a Camden Shopping Center has been Apprehended.


     On Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at approximately 10:40 p.m., Members of The U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended Shakeem Cook, 28, of Camden, New Jersey. Mr. Cook has been Charged with First Degree Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.


     On Sunday, February 13, 2022, at approximately 3:54 p.m., Members of The Camden County Police Department responded to The 2700 Block of Mount Ephraim Avenue in Camden on a Shotspotter Activation. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a male victim, later identified as Kadeem McBride, 31, of Sicklerville, New Jersey, suffering from Multiple Gunshot Wounds.


     Mr. McBride was immediately transported to Cooper Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased.
