Two Charged In Fatal Crash

TWO CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH THE JANUARY 20 2022 EDISON FATAL CRASH THAT CLAIMED THE LIFE OF AN EIGHTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL

     " Tyler Dickerson & A Teen Both From South Brunswick Have Been Charged For Causing The Death Of  Diana Somarriba Of South Brunswick."

EDISON, NJ.- On Thursday, February 17, 2022, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Edison Township Police Chief Thomas Bryan announced that Two Individuals have been Charged in connection with a Fatal Crash that occurred on January 20, 2022.


     On Thursday, January 20, 2022, at approximately 10: 25 p.m., Members of The Edison Township Police Department responded to the area of Route 1 South and Fox Road on a report of a Motor Vehicle Crash. Upon arrival, Police Officers found Diana Somarriba, 18, of South Brunswick and Two Teenage Boys who were the occupants of a vehicle, which struck a vacant building.



     Ms. Somarriba and the Two Teenagers were immediately transported to an area hospital, where Ms. Somarriba succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.


     After a joint investigation conducted by Edison Township Police Detective Dominic Masi and Jonathan Berman of The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office determined that Two Vehicles operated by Tyler Dickerson, 18, of South Brunswick, New Jersey and a 17-Year-Old Teen were involved in a High Speed Race that resulted in the teen crashing his vehicle into a vacant building, Killing Diana Somarriba, who was the Teen's Passenger.


     On Wednesday, February 16, 2022, the Teen was Arrested and Charged with Aggravated Manslaughter; Vehicular Homicide; and Aggravated Assault. After a Family Court Hearing, the Teen was released on conditions. Mr. Dickerson was also Arrested and Charged with Vehicular Homicide; and Aggravated Assault. Mr. Dicker was also released after a First Appearance in Middlesex County State Superior Court.
