Illinois Man Charged

ILLINOIS MAN CHARGED WITH TRANSPORTING $300,000. OF HEROIN AND FENTANYL INTO MERCER COUNTY

     " Job Carranza-Ocampo Has Been Charged With First Degree & Second Degree Narcotics Offenses."

TRENTON, NJ.- On Tuesday, February 22, 2022 Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced that after a Two Month Investigation into Narcotics Distribution in Mercer County, New Jersey, a Melrose Park, Illinois man has been Arrested and Charged with transporting $300,000. in Heroin and Fentanyl into The Mercer County Area



     On Thursday, February 17, 2022, as part of an ongoing investigation, Members of The Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, The Drug Enforcement Administration, The Department of Homeland Security and The Federal Bureau of Investigations, while conducting surveillance in a parking lot on Route 130 in Hamilton, New Jersey, Detectives detained Job Carranza-Ocampo, 31, of Melrose Park, Illinois without incident. As a result, Detectives located Two Kilograms of Heroin in the bed of Mr. Carranza's Ford F150 Pickup Truck. Further, a Kilogram of Fentanyl was discovered on the ground behind Carranza-Ocampo's Truck.


     A subsequent search of Mr. Carranza-Ocampo's Melrose Park, Illinois apartment resulted in $467. in cash being seized. As a result Mr. Carranza-Ocampo was Charged with Multiple Narcotics Offenses including First and Second Degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute. 


     Mr. Carranza-Ocampo was Processed on the Offenses and transported to The Mercer County Correctional Facility. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office has Filed a Motion to have Mr. Carranza-Ocampo Detained pending Trial.


     According to Mercer County Prosecutor Onofri, The Street Value of the confiscated Fentanyl is approximately $100,000. and The Heroin is approximately $200,000.
